Notting Hill Carnival

Went once. Wasn’t for me tbh but most looked like they were having a great time of it.

You think that doesn’t also apply to other mass public events? Protests, football, festivals, the police always become passive when they’re outnumbered 100 to 1.

But by pretending it only happens at Notting Hill, people invent a situation where they can ignore the facts to justify the feelings they have towards this particular event, for whatever reason they hold those feelings.

It’s a thread discussing the carnival, nothing else.

No one is pretending anything, that’s you and your own argument desperately trying to move the discussion away from the carnival into another subject.

So? Criminality surrounding the carnival? The Met are not happy and rightfully so.

Maybe you should contact them and say “yeah but”

Haha the idea that statistics around the policing of other mass public events is not relevant to the policing statistics of 1 mass public event is so stupid I know you don’t even believe it.

You just desperately want to remove any and all context from the discussion so you can pretend NHC is something uniquely criminal and it’s very transparent and no one is falling for it.

How other events are policed is inherently part of this discussion on policing at NHC.

When we are discussing the carnival/stabfest/drugpit can you please refrain from mentioning Notting hill please.

What is the opinion of the Daily Mail/Telegraph editorial team ?

Whatever it is, I believe we should do the opposite.

It's a joyful outpouring of community spirit and west Indian culture. You can't just imply that it's an opportunity for drug dealing yardies to commit violent crime at huge cost in terms of both the victims and indeed of policing the event. That would be well racist.
Why do we constantly have to be reminded of 'community' it's everywhere. We have had community for 100s of years, without mentioning it. It just proves multiculturalism doesn't work. Actively promoted by the government... God help us all.
