Nottingham Forest (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I dont understand surely Wood is best striker ever seen and Haaland just apprentice or was commentary wrong and wood also did Jack shit against a defender out of his depth and Dias strolling round still they had 10 behind ball
Woods can sit and do his shoelaces for 90.. his team won..
Tactically..
10 behind the ball seems to work against us..
High line.....??
Doesn't work anymore.
And don't say premier League because it's the same in Europe..

Can't keep stressing it.
Europe has moved on tactically..

We still have quality players but it's how they are being told to play.

Ferny needs to be no2..
Fuck the coaching role..
Pep needs a pep up his arse.
Ferny would do that..

Admittedly pis poor but not as bad as many think on here ... we were borderline ok up to the puzzling subs and then we just knew it was cummin ... the goal really rubbed salt into the gaping wounds ... so avoidable and we have these defensive lapses in every game right now ... tis seriously depressing that Forest didn't even have to play well to beat us ... ... we can disect and analyse all we want, but you have to earn the right to play and we are like a team of spineless lightweight tackling dwarves when we don't have the ball ... we have no menacing intent or cynicism anymore .. Brighton game suddenly a must win and we need a response ... going to game on Saturday and really looking forward to seeing Khusanov in the flesh ... onwards and upwards

It was bad though.
We lost .
As we have a lot this season.
Mate. I'm answering somebodies question (How bad was it) and giving my opinion.
He seemed to appreciate my response.
If you want to give him your opinion go ahead. I'm not the one asking questions.

You said we "battered" them. As in battered without scoring or creating. How does that equate to battering them?
I thought we had a great first half (obviously without putting the ball in the net).
They never got near the ball and in my mind we battered them.
As far as creating goes, we clearly created chances.
You obviously disagree and that's fine.
I just wanted to acknowledge your post but I am trying to make a lasagne so thats all I can scrape together tonight.

We played them at home and hit quick long balls over the top and beat them 3-0. Same personnel. Pep decided that he would out-coach himself today because he didn't employ that tactic
Let face it. He's fucking AWOL this year.
Don't you think Firest changed their tactics to counter that? They learnt not to play an open game against us

With how poor this game was, I'm worried we won't be able to get past Bournemouth in the cup. Their pace up front is frightening.

I don't care about where or what the rags are doing. They are no longer the benchmark we should be gauging ourselves against.
We are not in a transition period. A transition period is where there is change.
No change with Pep on team selection or in tactics.
Peps weakness has beenb to have misguided faith in players who served him well but are no longer capable of performing at a high level, whether it be form, age or injury.
Players like Kovavic, Philipps, Nunes aren't a patch on the players they replaced.
liverpool let go of 1st team regulars like Firminho, Mane and Fabinho and replaced them with players that have improved them.
You are basically saying what Im saying. The turnover of players we've seen were part of the transition. The fact in your opinion they were not good enough is another matter which I dont disagree. I dont think Lewis is either. L/pool managed to transition well . Let's see if they can win 4 in a row. As for united. sadly we still sing about them from the terraces which really pisses me off. What's all that about?

Bernardo has lost his mojo. Previous years he used to run past van dijk like he was a minor league defender. But now he has no dribbling skills, No goals. Assist, he was not particularly good in that even before. Yes he runs a lot. He does that even now. But as a team leader he needs to deliver more. So does foden.
Previous years we used to have flair of Debruyne, Bernardo, foedn, Grealish and Gundo. This year no one are good enough. I fear we will not find some players with flair even in next transfer window. It seems MCatee is not good enough for us.

We played risk averse football again. Away from home, try to control the game, the stuff that teams are used to. And when we play at a snails pace, good defences, like forest, lap it up.
It's 1 step forward 2 steps back all year.

Bernardo's comment in the Paul Lake interview was very telling, when he said, after he won the champions league, he would be happy if he never won anything again.

We have this hybrid style. Players like Bernardo are all about pass and move football, possession dominant and lots of creativity. The younger players we have are more combative and direct. We either play to their strengths or we play a poor version of our old passing game.

I'm still confident we will qualify for the CL, and I don't think we deserved to lose on Saturday either. But we need wins with how tight things are. Everyone around us is inconsistent too fortunately. It only takes a few wins in a row to bring some positivity.

I'll take 3 pts from Spuds and Forest away - that's an ok return most would have taken.

Now it's onto Brighton & Leicester at home, for which i'll take 4.

I think the season is playing out in little blocks, crawling over the line.

I like everyone else was disappointed in Saturdays result but think we need to put things into perspective.
This team and manager have ran through walls over the past four years to get the trophy’s we have.
The mental and physical fatigue has caught up.
No other team has had to play the amount of games we have and I think this goes someway to explaining the amount of injuries we’ve suffered.
I’m not blind and realise that Peps tactics are not destroying teams like they once were and Nunez/Grealish situations are just baffling.
I am more than happy to accept one average season, because let’s be honest we’ve been through a lot worse.
However I have complete faith in Pep and these players, plus a few summer signings to get it right.
I suppose all I’m trying to say blues is onwards and upwards, we will not be this bad for long.
