Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Said in the pre match thread that I would like to see front 3 of Phil, Erling and Alvarez and with Mr Whippy behind picking the passes

I know it was only Forrest but it seems so natural and fluent

Only issue is Kev and Bernie are so good it’s hard to call the midfield
Given it was something more like a 3-2-5 in attack there's room for all our attacking talents to swap in and out of that front 5. Think Pep is onto something with Haaland in the 9 and Alvarez allowed to roam wherever the fuck he wants across the front 3 though.

I know people will say it was only Forest, however since their promotion they've no done too bad, we are still not playing our best but it's improving game by game, I enjoyed the game last night but the traffic was an absolute nightmare both directions

Can someone explain to me what our 3 at the back formation is that Pep is liking the look of right now? After knocking Kyle Walker as a playmaker on the head, we’ve at times seen us play 3 centre backs but seemingly without traditional wingbacks? It feels like something unique but I’d like a tactico to explain what it is we’re actually doing. For example last night, Rico Lewis was a RCB. Is it a sort of 3-1-5-1? Or a 3-1-3-3 maybe. I love the flexibility we have, even if the intricacies of it are hard to describe!

There’s something different to see all the time in watching this game.
I’ve just noticed how high John Boy jumped for the header he took from Foden headed to Erling, who also jumped very high. Great heights from both. Plus that goal came from 3 headers!! Oh my goodness what a season this is going to be.
Alvarez, Haaland, Gundogan, Bernardo, Walker, Stones, KDB, I could go on but I’m sure you all understand. Plus we’ve got the lads who are still injured.

My cup runneth over. :-)
