Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Only 2 mins added it’s fucking bent to fuck! Just because we winning by 6 doesn’t mean the referee should cheat! There was 8 subs at least second half!

Someone should call them out on it!
Pigmol gave our extra added time to the dips.

Only 1 min in the first half as well. Fucking refs are telegraphing their bias & 'timewasting' themselves.

When we attacked it was reminiscent of the old five-man forward line of the 1960s with Bell, Lee, Young, Sumerbee, and Coleman. I thought it was a playing style that had died out in modern football because it was seen as too risky defensively. But Pep doesn't give a shit does he? He will try anything. I think sometimes he just gets a bit bored and wants to have a bit of fun. After watching football close-up for 55 plus years I am amazed by Pep. There may be managers with bigger trophy hauls but he is the best coach of all time with strategy and tactics.
I'm too young to have seen it, but I said pre-match that watching Pep experiment with Cancelo has become probably the most innovative and intersting thing in modern football tactics, it'd be quite nice if it resembled a great team of ours of the past! The back 3 that drops back into a back 4 seems to nullify the counter while always give us an extra man around the box. It was special to watch at times last night, where I am in the ground you could see the Forest defenders having no clue where to go or who to follow.

Player, not person.
Still seems unnecessary to change a phrase which has been in men's football since day dot when it's two mens teams competing against each other.
I'm all for the evolving of language and happy to see certain phrases changed slightly to highlight inclusivity but nah, this seems to be a bit of a nonsense.

It is not really the same other than having five attackers. The 1960s formation was pretty rigid. The current one is much more mobile and flexible. Summerbee could come inside sometimes (and play number 9) but Coleman was an out and out left winger. Colin Bell was the one who had the freedom to roam a bit like Gundo or KDB last night. They used to joke that Young (who was brilliant technically) never moved far from his inside left position. Franny Lee was a world-class striker. Very aggressive, fast, and with great movement. But that 1968 team was pretty weak defensively compared to the current crop.

It's so hard to see this stuff on TV at the best of times, let alone older stuff from the 60s, and even harder when I watch older highlights on Youtube and stuff. This is really interesting!

Alvarez must start every game.

Apologies to Grealish, Mahrez and anyone else.

It was like watching a young Sergio.

Both goals were that of an elite striker.

So much intensity, great in the press, fantastic link man, quick.

Very excited.
Haaland, Phillips, Alvarez and Gomez are all hungry to show what they can do, really motivated
Throw palmer, Wilson eabrand and Lewis in and there’s a lot to be excited about
Pep extension surely only a matter of time.

Gentlemen, it was done in response to what Sky seem to be going with at the moment. Have to be honest, it comes across as a bit clunky for me. It may well get changed back, dependent on further input. Thanks for your input, though. Along with others.
