Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

All the tinfoil cap "everybody against us" here are so tiring. I get we are hard done by at times but ALWAYS BLAMING THE REF is such a poor look. We should fucking aspire not to be just like those other fan bases we laugh at because of this same behavior . Rodri got wound up and every single time that SHOULD BE a straight red. Rodri deserves the ire for being daft and unable to control himself. The ref is the ref... take it as given we likely aren't getting the calls and move on. So tiring to hear so call supporters crying and wetting their nappies about that which we already know. Grow a pair, or at least pretend as I realize at a certain age they don't work anymore.

Guardiola said the game changed after 35 minutes and said Taylor lost control of proceedings at that point, insisting neither City nor Forest were to blame for that.

"The referee changed the game. I don’t understand why the first action wasn’t a yellow card and the first action is a yellow card to us, I don’t understand," he said.

"With all the yellow cards the responsibility is not Nottingham Forest or Man City’s, that’s for sure."
Maybe I'm misreading it but my take is that Pep is calling out Taylor as a cheating ****.

After our good start I thought Forest did quite well in getting players around our lads and denying space. It was obviously frustrating our players which I think caused reactions.

Surprised we went to a back 5 and kept hitting it long after the stupid red card. I guess with the midfielders we had left we didn't really have the press resistance to keep it and the plan was for the second balls and midfield runners to drive us forward which Phillips did ok on a few occasions. I'd have tried pushing Gvardiol into midfield and keeping the 4 or even bringing Rico on but Pep doesn't tend to use young players in this kind of pressure scenario and I guess he knows what he was doing.

Foden was pretty good with Southgate in attendance. He was also there on Tuesday night so I hope he's not in talks to replace Pep. I also love how Haaland vibes with the crowd and Ederson pulled off a pretty decent save near the end.

Although Rodri went a bit mad it was also good to see the players get over there quick and support each other.

Ultimately a game to forget and we are now pretty short of bodies in the middle for a few games.

Essentially 50+ minutes with 10 men. Ruben throwing his body in front of the ball to ensure we don’t concede…yet around me people darting for the exits after 75 minutes. Fucking embarrassing.
Yeah but some of them have school in the morning. Or something.
It might also help if we took the time off the scoreboard judging by the number of fans who fucked off for a pint/piss/smoke before half-time.

Taylor might have all the gear, the whistle, recourse to VAR, two linos but he is to refereeing what I am to brain surgery - a total fuckin' disgrace, disaster, and catastrophe rolled into one. Has he ever exerted control over a game? Half the shithousery, from both teams, comes as a result of him not applying the laws. There were three fouls on our player and I swear I felt the vibrations of the tackle in my seat in CBL3, and his judgement is PLAY ON! He's an absolute useless tool. We've seen it before and we saw it again today. He hasn't manipulated the result directly but as soon as I saw his name on the list I feared for more of the same old shit he seems to serve up every time he gets on our pitch!

Just got back from the game. South stand mint as always for creating atmosphere. Was in 101 but definitely going to try and be at one of the standing blocks or SS soon because the atmosphere around me was dead at times. Don't know why we didn't go all out after the second goal during the first half. Wasn't surprised at the red card at all, bit of a nervy start to the second half too especially after the red card and ederson yellow card. Still, a pretty good performance overall.

Foden and Walker both superb. Nunes and Doku look impressive too.

Did you not think to start any songs off?
