I think he'll turn out to be a very decent signing.Mate there’s a very clever and talented player there I tell you and he’s starting to show it. Always looking to make runs in the little pockets and ghost into the area at the right time. The perfect player for Pep in that position.
Yeh he loses the ball sometimes but so do all the front footed players at the moment as we’re still gelling. Got to see beyond just giving the ball away.
I thought the ref was part of the problem
We're cheats,(apparently) and they reminded us several times. Pity our travelling blues didn't point out the irony in goading us.Great win in the end but we have to improve a lot to win the league. First half we were so poor but picked it up in the 2nd and were better. Cherki improves by the game and Nico looked good as well.
Forest fans seemed really giddy today and were a lot noisier than normal, do they not like us?
silly fouls yep stop fouling or dont foul him but when watched back so many these days are players getting in front of player and stop running the refs fall for it all timeForest tried to bully, intimidate and outmuscle us, and to a certain extent it worked, because we started to give away silly fouls,. especially Nunes and O'Reilly on the flanks.
Yep opinions. Mine is that Dias was unlucky to be on a yellow. In the context of the game i didn't think his reaction to the foul looked excessive. Waving an imaginary card is clear dissent but that went unpunishedRightly or wrongly another ref might have given Dias a second yellow card.
Each to their own opinion, but I also thought that the ref did well to defuse the situation when Forest were clearly trying to rattle Donnarumma as City prepared to defend a corner
Was seated (not was sat). :-)Was sat in the Forest end, quite near the City fans and had an amazing view for both our goals. Thought the City fans were brilliant, although not quite as loud as in 2024 when I was sat in the same seats.
Thought we deserved the win and showed a lot of steel to win this game. Thought it wasn’t amazing quality, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Think we looked like Champions today, but there’s a very long way to go. Not even half way yet! We just need to keep the pressure up on Arsenal, and keep an eye on Villa.
we fell asleep again start of second halfI agree that Dias was lucky not to get a 2nd booking. But I didn't think he should have got his first.
I agree. Reijnders is getting better, especially further forward. I think, with Pep’s help, he will turn into a major asset. He has been playing too deep but he’s not a defender.Mate there’s a very clever and talented player there I tell you and he’s starting to show it. Finished 6-3Not quite.
They were 3 down at half time v Southampton and changed from grey to dark blue.
Final score Saints 3 rags 1
If your manager didnt want him to do it he wouldn't do it.I wonder what Dyche thought after he watched Rooney's coverage of the MGW-O'Reilly foul. Had MGW just tried to defend, he'd have probably been able to block Cherki's shot.
Gibbs-White is a very good player but he has a cynical side to his game.
Don't watch much of the post match stuff unless they are about to interview a manager but Less OTT always seems decent and pro City if not particularly insightful.Lescott is a prick
I may be wrong but I thought we had our own break out in the last minute flagged offside but for a player who didn't receive the ball, not the guy who did, sorry can't recall those involved as didn't see it back, but gave Forest a FK and last chance to get forward, would have been fuming if an equaliser had materialised - presuming they wouldn't have gone back to check whether the offside decision had been correct...There was a move in the game where Forest broke away and the lino raised his flag immediately. On the TV, he looked onside. They are supposed to let it play out and pull it back via VAR, if Forrest score, but sometimes they do and sometimes they don't and it's the inconsistency that's fuelling the controversy, so much so, that sometimes I feel it's deliberate.
You don't need Doku or Savinho for situations like that. Just somebody else go wide! The lack of width was an issue in the 1st half. Dyche boxed off the middle of the park. Nico O'Reilly and Nunes weren't really compensating for Foden and Cherki who played quite narrow. Doku and Savinho are needed for situations like that. Semenyo also if he signs.
Nico González really is looking tired at times in most games. He was dead on his feet trying to run back during a Forest counter attack. Rodri will hopefully ease that burden soon.
Foden was poor for most of the game, for me. He improved during the final 20 mins or so. Very unlucky not to score that time he manipulated the ball in a tight space after Cherki found him.
