These papers are really doing my tree in, i wish the club would get their lawyers on this bullsh*t! Read so many quotes such as "Carlos may be back either thursday or friday" and they write up that he doesn't know where he is or even when hes back, its ridiculous.

what action would you have the lawyers take?

Don't know but surely reporting false information or something, just ban them from the club actually.

I don't think anything's changed, mike.

I don't think City fans are any more negative than they have been, or particularly more negative than anyone else.

Oh, come on Dave, you can't REALLY believe that, surely?

There is FAR more negativity amongst us at the moment....at a time when it should be precisely the OPPOSITE!

exactly the same happened with hughes im afraid just a different manager but same old same!

You cannot get into trouble for saying a player may be back from another country on Thursday or Friday? Fuck me even Mancini has said that or something like that. They have the power to ban them from the club, the rags do it all the time and we (and three other papers) were thrown out by baconface just a few weeks ago. Trouble is they would probably need to justify such an action and that would probably mean proving the article was grossly inaccurate or deliberately misleading; not the easiest of tasks for City at the minute.

If that's what you believe you're either a young kid who has just started following the Blues, or someone new to BLuemoon who is confusing it with real life.

Wrong on both counts.

The crowd at the City games is also more negative than it used to be - there are FAR more boos and moaning than we used to get. It is not just Bluemoon and other forums - discussions between City fans outside the forums also seem to reflect a changing in attitude, albeit I agree that it is exaggerated on the forums.

If you disagree, you are either a liar or somewhat deluded.

I'm neither a liar or deluded.

You obviously weren't here during PEarce's reign( "You don't know what you're doing", "You're not fit to wear the shirt", there's a couple of songs to jog your memory)

Or what about Keegan's at the end ("What the fuck is going on?" at OLdham)

Or Royle's reign, say during that wonderful time in division 2, where we all put our arms around our shoulders and...the assistant manager commisioned a piece in the MEN about the fan's negativity.

And these are the populalr managers. We whinged non stop under Clark, Ball etc. ("We're shit and we're sick of it","What the fuck is going on", "we never win at home and we never win away", a few of the popular ditties from the time. There was a best-selling t-shirt which said "MCFC - SHIT TEAM - GREAT FANS")

You're either a new blue or a deluded one.

Just to take a different slant on Kinky's question, what's been said that's libellous?

There's two games I always think back to; the Huddersfield game on the Friday night (2nd tier of the League) where the "You're not fit to wear the shirt" and "We're shit and we're sick of it" were not sung by digruntled pockets of fans, they were sung by a large percentage of the ground (or so it seemed). It was the beginning of the end for me and I left Maine Road that night and went in Jabez Clegg and sat at the end of the bar boozing all night thoroughly depressed, the relationship between the players and fans was non-existent and never really recovered that season; and the Darlington FA Cup game away which sparked Willie Donachie's article in the MEN. I was behind the bench that night and our staff and players got non-stop abuse all night. It was depressing in the extreme.

No matter how many people piss and moan about Mancini's substitutions, formations and negative tactics, we are nowhere near the level of negativity and hostility which were in evidence during the above times.

Here's a good barometer for you DTeacher; remember what happened when we went out of the FA Cup away at Blackburn under Pearce? If you don't I'll remind you, there were loud, continuous chants for the managers head, it was going off left right and centre in the away end between Blues and then our fans gave our players abuse when they came over to clap us.

If a similar scene develops tonight if we go out of the FA Cup then I'll accept you have a point. I don't think it will though because we're nowhere near that kind of situation at the moment.
