NYCFC Live Announcement

Txiki's not spoken yet on my stream.

BTW Marwood's there too. Seriously this is proper job share situation!

EDIT:

Txiki's English is excellent.

Marwood is heavily involved. I "met" him in immigration at Newark the day after the FAC semi last season.

The size and scope of Abu Dhabi's investment continues to stagger me.

As does the quality of the people running things. Once again, can't speak highly enough of the way Ferran and Txiki conduct themselves. So clear in their objectives. Ferran's comments about what the City Way is were also very illuminating.

The rivalry with Red Bull (dispise that brand) has huge potential, probably one of the main reasons they chose New York. The MLS is definitely the fastest growing league in the world, watched a lot of it last year and you would be surprised by atmosphere and colour in the stadiums.

Think Defoe has gone to Toronto today, who were one of the worst teams last season.

He has, TFC also resigned Dwayne De Rosario. Could be a deccent strike force.
Not to mention midfielder Michael Bradey from Roma.

Did you notice when Txiki mentioned Barcelona he followed it by saying "our friends"

That's it, it's a done deal ;-)

Sheesh - if you'd listened you'd have known that months ago mate :)

Its a personal gripe of mine but it does piss me off that City fans have never had a presser like this from Ferran and Txiki

Dont you think we deserve to hear these words on City TV aimed at us? It would be nice to know from Txiki in particular what he thinks of City.

City have 36 scouts around the world according to Soriano, a number of them in Latin America, and NYCFC will have access to that network.

Jesus....36 scouts ?

I know, it's a joke. Your only allowed 4 on FIFA 14, really it's a joke.

Isn't it six? (And three for the academy?)

Just got to the end of it, was quite a way behind some of you by the looks of it. Jason Kreis is very, very American isn't he? Funnily enough though despite sounding like he's been raised for television (like every other American), it was Ferran and Txiki who really stole the show. Ferran especially is so clear and determined in his answers, must be impossible to catch him out. He also has a very good way of explaining what he means, he doesn't just waffle enough words out hoping you will get it eventually; The explanation of how Kreis will be given freedom within the 'City way' was a great example of this.

Agree a little with fbloke above though. After sacking a manager many fans considered to be a demi-God, a direct presser to explain the 'City way' to us would have been nice. Still, we hear it either way so it's hardly keeping me up at night.

This is an area where we've really spread our wings since the arrival of Txiki

I did cover it on a few posts when he first arrived about South America and how we were going to open up new scouting networks in that part of the world.

Hopefully soon when the new academy opens we'll start seeing some benefits :-)

Can't us American's get an exclusive every now and then? ;)

Yeah, Exciting.

Europe football clubs have average 5~15 full -time scouts, but City have 36 scouts....amazing.

I suspect the reason we haven't is for that exact reason - they sacked such a popular manager.

I daresay we'll hear from them both after we pick up a couple of trophies this season. :)

Yeah that was pretty much my thoughts on it as well. No point unnecessarily putting yourself in the firing line, and I'm confident their decisions will be vindicated soon enough anyway.
