Oasis reunion?

I love oasis but I’m so tired of this, it’s been 11 years of rumours, and because they are brothers the rumours won’t stop until one of them dies or the public completely forget about them. I don’t care if they ever get back together again, and if they do It won’t be the same. I have oasis lyrics tattoo’d on me, and I listen to their albums all the time - I have absolutely no desire to see oasis live again.

Same for me (apart from the tattoo bit).

If anyone wants to hear Liam singing Oasis songs (badly), they can go to one of his gigs. Makes no difference who's on guitar.

Hopefully not. They were perfect for the era but things move on.

Old things that have come back. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, Rambo, Guns and Roses, Open All Hours, Alan Partridge etc etc.

The one thing that links them is that they're all old things brought back. And they've all been worse than their glory days and normally by a wide margin.

They have an audience and a stored up loyalty that would make a come back financially attractive. Rock bands have at times been able to reform and remain viable and valid. I personally would like to see it happen. Let’s face it, the music isn’t going to be markedly different to what they are currently producing. Just reference Noel’s latest Single!

It WILL happen. Noel's all about the money and the finances involved will be huge, he just wants to do his own thing before getting the old band back together. He's seen how well commercially Liam is doing and knows Oasis would smash it, his public stance has been noticeably less hostile to Liam recently. Liam knows this and is playing up to it on twitter, which ironically is probably delaying the reunion as Noel will want to save face before he does eventually agree to it.

Unlike the Smiths and other bands Liam and Noel are brothers, which is a different dynamic to two people who have had a fall out. I think its probably still a couple of years (and a lot of public game playing) away from happening but it will and I'll be one of those people pulling out all the stops to get tickets despite knowing they're only doing it for the money and unsure if its even a good idea!

Oasis were of their time and we’re fucking magic for a while, but everyone’s moved on. Music has moved on. Indie is dead.
