Official Chelsea v Manchester City Match Thread

We looked very much like we we're happy to get away with a 1-0 loss, defending was the best part of our game the attack was dreadful, far to slow at moving the ball and how many time must it come back before it goes forward, didn't expect to much from the game but as mentioned if not for the f**k up on the free kick then we may have got a draw.............Oh and someone need to give that F*ckin lampard a dig he's a dirty bastard when he asn't got the ball.

Chelsea were first to every ball, our players were guilty of waiting for the ball far too often. On the evidence of that I would say Chelsea are a bulldozer of a side, they have skill but they tend to outfight the opposition as well, a bit like the Germans in days of old. We'd have been a better match with De Jong and Kompany giving our more creative players a platform from which to build attacks.
Agree 110%

Hold your horses, what you want when key players are missing? Give the guys a break, the lot was very thin and you play with Chelsea.

Defense played well, particularly Ned.

Hughes gave up on any chance of an equaliser tho when he took off Elano and then Rob.

Elano was our best player, other than Ned, and I don't care how out of the game Rob is, you do not take him off unless he is injured. Blackburn away taught us that and we arent up to the standards of Barca, Real(atleast when Rob was there) etc where they can afford to take off some of the best players in the world.

I'd even go as far as to say it was a poor move to bring big Phill off for Ched. Big Phil, whilst raw, has far more about him that Evans.

losing 1-0 aint too bad ... atleast for the GD.

What rubbish.
We haven't got the quality in depth to be carrying a player for 90 mins week in week out away from home. Your argument might have some weight if there was ANY evidence that Robby has contributed away from home.
It's a joke he gets a shirt away from COMs based on his performances so far.

Chelsea in good performance shocker!!!

STFU all you miserable *****. If City play like that more often they'll be ok.

Let's at least be honest, we were poor today :-(

It was against Chelsea FFS!!

And we were away from home with 3 key players missing. I thought we did bloody well considering!!

All ths whinging really pisses me off after every single defeat, but against a Chelsea side going for the title just takes the piss.

*standing ovation*

Do you think we played well today?

On the bright side, Hughes will be gone in Summer and Mourinho in.

THEN we'll start to compete with the likes of Chelsea.

Stop trotting this shite out every time we play you desperate ****!!!!!

HUGHES IS STAYING SO GET USED TO IT FOOL!

says it all when you start wanting a utd wannabe to replace a very good manager doing a very good job.

Caicedo is raw, but a lone striker against Chelsea he isn't. No support upfront and we were static all over the park. Final ball and passing was dreadful. Don't think one player would have gotten over 6/10 today. Kompany, De Jong and Bellamy were big misses. City looked more like it was a warm up game in training than a competitive match. How Chelsea didn't win by 4 or 5 is a mystery.
