Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

I just think any player that is willing to turn down a very good offer just to screw his current club is not worth the time of day. I would love the loyalty payment to get sorted and then Eto'o to join the revolution but at present it looks highly unlikely. One problem I can also seeing arising is that the £25mil fee is within price range of many clubs. Yes they wouldn't be able to afford the £10mil wages but they might not have to, look at the Ronaldinho situation hey took a lower wage to go to AC Milan.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

If it is true that he is looking to see out his contract to spite Barcelona then his position at the club is untenable. Try something like that in any professional organisation and you'd be handing your employers a mandate for immediate dismissal without compensation. Best striker in the world or not he'd be slapped straight onto the transfer list and benched indefinitely until there was a buyer. They'd play Bojan instead.

It also makes me wonder whether I would actually want someone this devoid of professionalism within our own ranks.

True. Buy it also seems that Barca are trying to poke him out the door with a ten foot pole. Laporata nor Pep want anything to do with him anymore, they may in fact be worried about him getting in the ear of players like Messi and Iniesta.

Seems to me Barca are trying to retain all of the £25m and wriggling out of paying Eto'o what he is due. Don't knock him for sticking up for his rights.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

I think the bit that is pssing us all off is the silence from the club - If we haven't made a bid, then surely they would say so - If we have and it's been rejected by Barca or Eto'o in the first instance, then surely they would say so - which can only mean we have made a bid and it's been accepted by both parties.

But either there are no issues at all or if there are, then we must feel they are not too big to get them out of the way. And if they are too big then surely we would say so - unless this is anaother Kaka fiasco in the making and we will be made to look mugs again.

But let's understand one thing Cook and co know what the whole world is saying, so surely it's getting a little late in the day now to say we've cocked up again - I think that this deal is still very doable, because if it goes wrong I can see Cook getting his balls chopped off as well as his hands.

Nah, he's just playing the game. He's being forced out so he's making sure Barca pay a price for that. Believe me they need Citys' cash so I think they'll offer him something as they can't afford not to. He knows it and he's played them. He's not daft is he ;o)?!

is the press conferance going to be live???

Why do you really want to watch us get bitch slapped live? lol

Im not sure tbh

It'll just be the agent posturing up, saying the usual and in the end saying things of no relevance whatsoever.

And this right after he's helped them to the treble... I think he's feeling pretty bitter at Barca right now and trying to screw them for as much as he can get. Can't say i blame him tbh.

You may find after some frantic phone calls today that it'll get "postponed". Of course, they may be stronger willed than we think and really do plan to piss in Barcas drink.......

I'm not knocking him I am just stating that it would be a daft decision, the best thing he could do is leave, yes Barca make money but they aren't guaranteed to land their targets of Villa and Ribery.

The thing is though if hes keen on coming here surely he can be the bigger man and not be a petulant child about this.

Mate the press conference will be less informative than what ull see here. THe agent is hardly going to run out saying GOOD NEWS EVERYONE ETO'O IS GOING TO CITY.
