Barca wont get Mascherano, and Villa may not leave Valencia.

I can't see Barca letting Eto'o go without bringing in another striker

According to El mundo this morning Villa is getting very close to a move, if they dont they will move for Forlan. They want eto'o out.
it worries me they want him out so much if he scored a shed load of goals last season.. is he that much of a twat..?
It's more financial for Barca, they can't afford to let him go for free next year, and Villa is a slightly younger replacement who won't be off for 6 weeks in the new year. If he winds his contract down they potentially lose £25 million, and they don't have big backers like Real.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Guardiola and Laporta want Villa. The threat to move on to Forlan is just that - a threat. In the hope that it spurs Valencia into quicker negotiations.

Eto'o isn't a twat. Guardiola just believes a) Villa fits his system better b) Villa is a better all round striker and c) Etoo will run down his contract otherwise

This. Guardiola and Eto'o dont get on and they don't want him to walk away for nothing, its got nothing to do with his ability, its a similar situation to Horseface at Yooni'ed.

Sorry Svennis for being so old hat... tingz are moving quicker now, next week, the most historical in the clubs history? Taggart Pisshead is going to blow a casket if we pull all of these off, let alone all the rest in the Prem

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Good Morning all from Portugal.

Just to add something to this thread, im not ITK, attention whore or a WUM, a few posters should be able to vouch for me.

However, was watching Portuguese TV from my hotel room this morning and they had a piece on Eto'o. They are claiming we will pay Barcelona €19m transfer fee, €6m signing on fee to Eto'o and then €10m for 4 years in salary. Dont know what else was said as it was all in Portuguese but they presented those figures graphically.

Absolutely no idea what channel it was so cant get an Internet link to back this up, but just passing on what they said.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

How do you know Valencia have to sell? This was said in January, and nothing happened.

They have sold Albiol to Madrid, and Silva could go.

I think their ridiculous debt states they need to sell. Even in the slim chance they dont, Barca will go after forlan who has a release clause of 36 million euros. They need our money you negative sod! ;)

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Valencia have to sell, even with the sale of that defender to Madrid, and letting Silva go, it still won't make a dent in the 400+ million that they have to cough up in debt repayments.

Plus, even if they sell everyone but Villa, will he really want to settle for a team that has no other quality and must be haunted by relegation next season?

1008 BST: Manchester City are closing in on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, with the Catalan club now appearing willing to sell the Cameroon 28-year-old. (Manchester Evening News)
