Valencia have to sell, even with the sale of that defender to Madrid, and letting Silva go, it still won't make a dent in the 400+ million that they have to cough up in debt repayments.

Plus, even if they sell everyone but Villa, will he really want to settle for a team that has no other quality and must be haunted by relegation next season?

That's why Barcelona will throw in Keirrison and Cacares into the deal. Plus they still have Joaquín, Mata, Baraja, Marchena, Maduro,Zigic if they want him back from loan etc.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

I was under the intention that the eto'o deal was based on whether the transfer of Keirrison or D.Villa to Barca? That deal must've been sorted? Any confirmation on the Valencia side of things, or is it simply the Eto'o deal has been striked pending on the other transfers.

Btw my 1st post :)

How do you know Valencia have to sell? This was said in January, and nothing happened.

They have sold Albiol to Madrid, and Silva could go.

I think their ridiculous debt states they need to sell. Even in the slim chance they dont, Barca will go after forlan who has a release clause of 36 million euros. They need our money you negative sod! ;)
They may need our money, if they can agree deals with Athletico and or Valencia, but selling your star player is never a formality.

Just pointing out the negatives, because the rest of the thread is positive. If it was the other way round, I hope I'd be doing the opposite

It's a very exciting time to be a City fan, but expectations still have to be managed, otherwise dizzy Berties will throw themselves off canal bridges

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

He is volatile:
However, his volatile attitude resulted in several off-pitch incidents. Bartolome Terrassa, a television journalist, filed a formal complaint after a run-in with Eto'o in the club's parking lot, accusing the player of saying, "The next time, you are not going to escape; I'm going to kill you." This was not the first incident, however, as the previous year Eto'o's former agent, Daniel Argibeaut, accused the player of assaulting him with four accomplices, saying, "They then took off my shoes, which in Cameroon means I am threatened with death."[4]
Eto'o refused to come on as a substitute in a league match against Racing Santander on 11 February 2007. FC Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard said after the match, "He did not want to come on, I don't know why."[

Bellers be careful.....
