with the best will in the world you do not know it is "a fact" - rather you think you know?
We paid extra for RSC, so i think it's a fact we'd pay extra for Eto'o
"you think it's a fact" - how does that work then?
Ok then ballbag.

IMO we will pay extra for him

Lol, great line.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

A reporter in Spain says that the money Real have spent will not only be re-couped but they will show a profit in endorsements/franchises etc. Obviously the banks realise this otherwise they would not have lent the money in the first place. Look at the crowd just for a transfer unveiling!

Some people really need to chill on here.

No news is good news.

Actually, no news is no news. Him signing is good news.
Technically yes, but in this case not really.

Eto'o wants his payment before he leaves. City are not stupid enough to let him run his contract down by staying at Barca over a few million quid. £13m is worth about 50p to our owners and Eto'o is worth so much more than an extra £13m.

We will sit this out, until the time comes when Barca eith pay up and we get him, or they refuse to pay and he tells us he will stay at Barca. At which point, expect a revised transfer bid from City in the region of, i don't know, £13m more than the previous one.

If Eto'o didn't want to come to City, he would have said so. The fact he is waiting for his payment from barca means he is willing to come to us, City WILL NOT let this deal die over a stupid loyalty payment that is a fact.

If the only thing holding the deal up is the payment, he will come to City. The only problem is if they is another issue we don't know about then it isn't so simple

the only thing holding this deal up is boot camp lol

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

Valencia don't have to sell Villa to Barca now so where does that leave us with Eto'o?

Former Valencia president Vicente Soriano has stated that the club are under no pressure to sell their stars after receiving a €500million (£432m) boost.

The Primera Division side have struggled financially of late and further players were expected to leave this summer after Raul Albiol was sold to Real Madrid.

Attackers David Villa and David Silva have both been linked with big-money moves away from Los Che, but Soriano has eased fears of an exodus.

Soriano has regained control at Valencia and revealed on Monday evening that an investment group, Inversiones Dalport SA, is willing to pay €500m for the site of the club's old Mestalla stadium.

"The grand Valencia project was held up by the economic crisis," Soriano said in quotes carried in the Spanish media.

"The club had a serious liquidity problem which paralysed its plan for growth. The very existence of Valencia was under threat but this is no longer the case."

He added at a press conference: "We will not be obliged to sell."

Barcelona will not pay £36m for a 31-year-old.
