No, what has that got to do with anything? The conversation was about City being able to attract the top names. Now as much as I rate Kompany, I don't think that being able to sign him means that as a club we have the profile to attract Kaka, Villa etc. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to attempt to get the very top names but it would be delusional to think that a player from a different country who had probably barely heard of us before ADUG bought us is going to be desperate to play for us rather than Barcelona or Milan.

No it wasn't. The conversation was about us getting top quality players, not top names.

And IMO Kompany is in that category.

We might look stupid to people have don't watch football, but I think most people realise that he's not playing fior us at the moment so loaning him out can only improve him. Providing of course we've not agreed some daft fee at the end of it.
