Official Knee-Jerk Reaction Thread

Everyone reacts to results in different ways.

Exactly. And those who are incapable of being rational and objective should try and limit their internet usage directly after games. It's fucking tedious and boring to read the same shite from the same people every time a point is dropped. Incidentally, the same people, who are rarely seen or heard from when results are perceived as "positive".

Our very own supporters used to be prone to kneejerk reactions even before the money came in. Even your good self may have had the odd moment before becoming a member of the happy clapper defence league.

It's the stupid rag like mentality which really grates. Those fine scholarly brains who cannot discuss beyond "Lescott is shit - should've kept Dunne" or "Hughes is tactically inept/naive" whatever. Those are rag like observations from supporters who want overnight success, but don't understand the details of the game of football. They lack knowledge and objectivity. But then again I'm pissing in the wind talking to you as you are one of the most myopic posters on here.

BTW, the happy clapper defence league would like to know why you resigned as their president only minutes after Ali Mackintoss was sacked for being a lying, incompetent, scourge on our beloved football club...;- )

... Supporters of the traditional top 4 are prone to knee jerk reactions whenever they drop points. The criticism is far beyond objective and borders on the absurd. We have supporters who are beginning to behave like that. It's plain for most people to see. Spoiled and arrogant. Just like rag and chel$ki supporters...

And this trend will grow within our support base too. At the moment the money spent has not translated into trophies but it has translated into a squad with genuine quality which automatically raises expectations so that 1 defeat in our opening 9 games and lieing in 6th place is somehow disappointing.

When we actually win a trophy or two the expectation will get higher and more intense and losing 2 games on the trot will be grounds for sacking the manager. Even now with the amount of money spent losing a few games on the bounce will ignite a firestorm. You simply cannot spend the amount of money we have spent and get away with rationalising dropping points. Yes it is light years away from the relatively recent days when winning a few games on the bounce was cause for major celebration but we are now being judged by a much higher standard.

Not saying it is right or wrong. Its just the way it is now.

Played nine games five of which have been away, only lost once and have clocked up 18 points averaging 2 points per game with a quarter of the season gone. Repeat the same over the remaining matches and we have 76 points which should be enough to guarantee top 6 (objective achieved). Wednesday we play Scunny with full strength side and hopefully we will score enough goals to take us through to quarter finals of CC. If we could win that and finish with 76 points I would class that as significant progress on last season.
