Official Manchester City Vs. Aston Villa thread.

I'd play vass, i can't believe i'm suggesting this but he has a habit of scoring against his old club villa

i'd expect us to start with this if Richards is fit:

Given
Richards
Dunne
Onouha
Bridge
SWP (RM)
Zab
De Jong
Kompany
Ireland (LM)
Caicedo

Elano SHOULD play though. Drop Richards, put Zab at RB. Think Hughes will try and nick a 1-0 tho with three defensive midfielders

Quite frankly it amazes me how stupid and ignorant so many of the posters are on here. No way in hell will we beat Aston Villa tonight. With an in-form Bellamy and a motivated Robinho, we might have knicked a result but, without them, we have no chance. Man for man in every single position on the park (except goalie), they are much better than us. If Given plays a blinder, we may keep the score down to 0-1 but am expecting much worse.

No reason why we cannot lionheart even without Richards , Bellamy and Robhino.

In fact I don't think formation wise and team balance wise Robhino and Bellamy are a good match especially at home.

If the players we have on the pitch believe in themselves they are good enough to beat the likes of Villa but I agree if we concede first its most likely going to be another series of Hughes out on this forum during the late hours of the evening.

Stoke could easily have pinched all three points against them last Sunday and they played 15 minutes of football.

Villa have won 8 of their last nine away games its high time they lost another one. If it were the other way around they would be a shoe in to win (LOL).

Given

Zabaleta Onuoha Dunne Bridge

De Jong Kompany

SWP Elano Ireland

Caicedo

Time for Elano to step up and show his real class...
Villa are not the quickest at the back so its a pity Robinho & Bellemy won't make it, but there's still enough class in that side to cause them problems.

City to win 3-1
