If we had managed a last minute third goal, we would probably have been burnt out by the end of extra time with only ten men. At least we won the actual game. After 120 minutes we may well have ended up at 3-3 or worse. As for taking off your best penalty taker, what was Hughes thinking? Personally I would have taken Stevie off as he was knackered. Let us hope the owner stays for the Sunday game as we definitely raise our performance levels (especially the Brazilians) when he is around. Well played lads, you did us proud...no exceptions.

Your fans here in Hamburg were awesome. A bunch of friendly peeps who enjoyed their trip - i dont have to get friends here with warm-hearted words so take it as the truth.
Maybe you are 11th in league and maybe you have been knocked out but your away fans were CL-like.
Keep this up and dont lose the ground under your feets when City will head for greater moments in history due to all the money.

Its one point to be a fan of a successfull team, and another to stay on ground and dont behave like a moron cos everyone thinks "we are the greatest".

Great point, i'm dreading all the glory-hunting hangers on that will pop up once we become successfull. Also i'll be accused of being one because i'm not actually from Manchester. I'd love us to a be a successfull team but have fans with a bit of humility.

Absolutley gutted, but well done to eveyone for the atmoshere that was created, even in the north stand!. We really sung our heart out all through the game, we just have to somehow pick ourselves up, and focus on 7th spot to get into europa league next season, but it has been a plesure watching us through the competition. Maybe our poor run of form lately was due to the players mind set on the uefa cup, so a positive is now we are out of it (and i'm gutted i can tell you), our league form may improve and if we play anything like we did yesterday in our remaining games, we will secure 7th spot and be in the run-in for next season. As for MH, apart from a few puzzlng substitutions, he didn't put a foot wrong and urged the players in what i thought was the best performance of the season, and if we would of taken at least a couple of those chances, we would have almost certainly have gone through, but we didn't so we have to try and prepare for sunday now and concentrate on the league.

just googled hamburg sv .well worth a visit imo The fans elect the board of directors who run the club and they seem to own the club as well.They even have an official graveyard for fans with turf from the pitch.The team and fans have a bond unlike most clubs in the uk . I think that explains the after-match celebrations on the pitch.Top fans top club. By the law of averages they must have some cretins but they seem to be few and far between. Auf wiedersehn to hsv ,look forward to the next time when we have the first -team out :-}
