Official MCFC Season 13/14 DVD - *Update* Confirmation

I wasn't keen on the 11-12 season review because of the shite non-TV commentary through-out - suppose it's copyright issue with Sky and BBC etc. but for me it makes the games seem more special to watch with the real commentaries. I just went to buy this in ASDA but they didn't have it - would you believe the Bin Dipper's season review is 4th in their chart? WTF! Anyway now I've read what's been said I don't think I'll bother.. real shame!

Just watched this today , whilst it's poorly edited and there are some poor choices of what is shown - do we really need to see the ref blowing for ft on every game for instance - I still enjoyed it and didn't find the music as intrusive as I had expected from other reviews . If we ever want to sell dzeko should just show this dvd and we will be on for a big payday , he scores loads !!

didn't you know, they won the league in April

Having just watched the whole DVD I cannot put in to words to describe how bad of a job they have done. The constant playing of soft rock music throughout every game completely belittles the importance of the games and removes all the tension that was felt at the time. It gives it more of a "quick run through the goals" feel to it like they would do on MOTD2 the following day. Worse still it means you can hardly hear the crowd reaction in games like the derby or the final run in.

The narrator doesn't appear to be a city fan or indeed a football fan. He gives the game away when he describes city legend "yoowee rosler". You might be able to understand them giving him the gig if he had a mancunian accent but he sounds like he is from the midlands. So basically when hiring a narrator for a manchester city season DVD they opted for a non mancunian, non city/football supporting twat.

The video is poorly edited. The highlights certainly aren't extensive and at points they cut short the celebrations by flicking over to Manuel pellegrini's reaction. You could argue that with over 150 goals they were simply to trying to cram in as much as possible but that wouldn't explain why they had time to add in clips of Micah Richards pranks and kolarov singing Santa clause is coming to town. Other things stand out too. During a slow motion re-run of the arsenal home game they added City 0 Leicester 0 in the top left corner. There were also a couple of audio errors thrown in there for good measure.

The commentary is done by the same city tv commentator throughout.

Overall this was a really poor effort and didn't do any justice to what was a great season in city's history. I don't recommend spending your hard earned money on this.

It's a truly shit attempt at a season review. I swear there's one point in the second half of the season where they've put the wrong commentary on a league game and it says "and City are off to Wembley" or something like that, which is actually from the West Ham 2nd leg. It's terrible.

The League Cup Final DVD is the best of the pack, the full 90 mins and trophy presentation with Tyler and Neville's original Sky commentary. No idea why the club fucked up the Season coverage so badly, unless one of the media department wanted to "try something different".

That's what I don't understand. We've been told down the years that we can't have the Sky/BBC commentaries (I'll pass on ITV's, thanks very much) due to rights issues.Yet we get the Sky commentary on the COC final. Now I understand it is a different competition, under the control of a different body, but surely if it's possible for the league cup, it should be possible for the PL?

tin hat firmly in place...check

I like the DVD review. the music is shit but watching city score loads and win the league cup and the league is still good.

it could have been better, it could have been excellent, but I have still watched it 10 times and am now banned from watching it if the Mrs is in the house.

We won the league and the league cup. the dvd brigs back the memories of being at the games. I dont miss the sky/bbc commentaries, but perhaps thats because i never heard them in the first place, but yes more crowd noise and less music would have been good.
