Using defence minded players in midfield could be the best way to go at present and putting Richards to full back might improve his confidence, so I would go with.

I think that's how we will line up. The full-backs will be given instruction to overlap as much as possible and Vass and Robinho will cut inside a lot to help Big Phil. Parker and Kompany will make us less vulnerable to counter attacks.
