Official: Raheem Sterling Signs On 5 Year Deal

Just asking for a clarification, KippaxCitizen. Do you dislike him as a person or as a player? Surely you must rate him as a player? I think he's too expensive, but his skills are potentially perfect for us, it seems to me. With his price, City have taken a calculated risk. In three years time, that price tag may look cheap. On the other hand, we may look very stupid. Whatever will happen, will happen.
As for him as a person, how much do we really know about him? Sure, he seems like a bit of a kid. But I have difficulty in seeing what's actively dislikeable about him. Now when I think of Suarez — a phenomenal player — I wouldn't have wanted that man at our club for any price whatsoever. Anyway, just curious what your reasons are/were…
I have thought he's been proper overrated which hasn't helped. He's good, but not as good as the media would have us believe over the last few years. So when he's been playing for a club i bloody hate, it's been one of them things where i've gone out to look at every single fault in his game and probably through bias said things like "look at that, he can't finish for shit!" after five one-on-ones at Old Trafford last year, just to make a point. And i've commented in match threads on the amount of times he loses where he is on the pitch, head down, nice few step overs and then runs the ball out of play trying to go round the full back. But we all do the same with Rooney too and it's all just been part of my mocking of him.

I also think his girly run is ridiculous too, so was his hair a little while ago too, so is the Rio Ferdinand-esque faux hard man look on his face, also didn't like the way he threw a dig at that Swansea player last season and got away with it.

But as i've said, just gonna try and like him. I don't want to not like a City player (although i never liked Elano neither, proper weasel faced fucker he was!). But it didn't take long with Tevez (although i never disliked Tevez before he signed for us).

But i hope this time next month he has me singing his name!

Anyone got any idea what that is bottom left....answers on a post card.

That's the Mayor of Liverpool.

8/1 to be the PFA Young Player of the Year next season. No doubt even if he got 10+ goals and 15+ assists and we won the league it would be awarded to someone else.

Realistically, what are the chances he plays a part in the game Saturday?

He's had an interrupted preseason training wise to say the least

Mahmadou Sahko going off message

“I spoke with him [Sterling] by text. He’s a very, very good guy and he’s my good friend," Sakho told Goal.com.

“I told him to enjoy for his career and for me I say to all the fans, don’t forget what he do for the club, because I know him and he gave 100% and we have to say thank you for that.”

Sterling is under huge pressure to live up to his price tag and at such a young age it won’t be easy.

So can he succeed under Pellegrini at City?

“I hope so for him because he’s a very good guy and very good player,” added Sakho.
