Very odd, especially as I think CB isn't one of Spurs stronger areas.

They sold Caulker because they agreed a fee with Steaua Bucharest for defender Vlad Chiriches but the deal was canceled because Spurs wouldn't wait to let him play in their Champions league Qualifiers.

I find it hard to believe that Levy would be that daft.

Surely he would make sure that he has the player signed and done before selling Caulker?

"Tottenham thought they had succeeded in a £17.1m double swoop for Halilovic and Tin Jedvaj earlier in the window only for the latter to switch to Roma instead.

Halilovic, who has been labelled the next Luka Modric in Croatia, has still to agree personal terms and it is believed the 17-year-old’s family will also need to take some convincing that he is ready to move to north London.

It is likely he will spend this season on loan at Zagreb, but his family’s concerns played a part in the move breaking down earlier this summer."

Poor boy will want to go to Real Madrid in a few years and be help hostage by Levy. Wait and see.
