Official Villa post match reaction thread. {merged - trial}

Same old City. We beat them 4-0 a few weeks ago so it was odds on we were going to come a cropper today.

We beat Huddersfield 10-1 at home once upon a time. Guess what happened at Huddersfield later in the same season.

no.

Well Done Villa.

To be fair it reminded me of us a couple of years back playing the likes of Chelsea or United etc..
Backs to the wall and the fans on the edge of the seats until the final whistle.
Holding on for the 3 points..
PS How many corners did we have in that game...

More teams need to play like that against the rag arses, seems we are every fuckers cup final these days.

Fair play to Villa though.

I thought this watching Wolves this afternoon, where was the performance they put in against us last week ? I bet Birmingham are right up for it a week on Wednesday.

Title is over... we now simply lower our expectations and aim for what we wanted last season, a spot in the Champions League.

I don't think there has ever been a better season to go for the title though. We had our chances and pissed it up.

Losses against Sunderland, Wolves and Everton

Draws against Blackburn, Stoke, Birmingham... and even playing for a draw on home soil against the big teams. That suggests to me we aint good enough to win it yet.

I would take 3rd right now. Throw in either the Europa League or FA Cup and that would be a great season in my eyes. I said it after the Everton loss, we're just not consistent enough for the title. When everything looks to be going well an Everton, Wolves, Birmingham type result pops up, that the likes of Man Utd, and Chelsea in the past don't seem to get. I just can't see us being as consistent as Man Utd this season. They win virtually every home game, and even in away matches when they're not playing well, they still get a result. People say its the worst Man Utd team in recent years, but I just can't buy it. They're unbeaten, and top of the league. If thats being the worst in years, then I'm a Dutchman.
