Official Villa post match reaction thread. {merged - trial}

Difference between a team....

which CAN win the title, and a team which WILL win the title.

Up until just a couple of years ago, and including the victory at OT under Sven, we were accused of raising our game when it mattered, and not having much ambition when it didn't.

Today, and for the next year, 5 years, 10 years...however the Sheikh is incharge and we are successful, teams WILL be us from those years we were unambitious. Today Villa didn't prove they can beat us, they proved we are the team to beat. United will go to those places and win, a fact backed up by their trophy cabinet, same goes for Chelsea.

Its a learning curve. I was pissed off with the result, but not the performance. Dominant in possession, dominant in passes, attacks.. we just need that next level now where we do what Man United do and WIN at those places. It will happen, too.

We always struggle against an organised defence with full-backs that don't bomb forward much.

I'd like to see us bring in someone else creative and a winger with blistering pace.

A certain duo from Spurs would be nice. :)

We dominated the game, and it was just one of those days.

Villa defended well. But they defended well at home for almost 90 minutes. Dzeko's presence has disrupted our attacking play, but in the long run we will benefit from this game

I can't see how you think that, he was good today, unlike his partner, it was Villa's defence that disrupted our attacking play, well Silva's part in it, they didn't allow any creative space for him, so we made 100's (it seemed) of pointless passes, with little penetration, and not enough pace. Johnson took the wrong option every time he got past their defender, either cutting to try to shoot, or get behind them and turn back to cross, he's really not a very bright footballer for me.

There were a few bright spots, but ultimately not enough to break down a well drilled defence, the irony is, it was our 4-0 win that turned Villa round enough to win tonight, they got lucky with their goal, and then saw out the game with solid, and sometimes lucky defending (the De Jong shot hitting the post after a slight deflection, it was bound for the goal and Friedel was rooted).

same as birmhm,evtn,blackburn games we struggle to play threw the middle of defences that dont move out or come out against us.we need to break threw em which we struggle if teams dont come out against us.birmhm away nxt wednesday will be the same

Don't mean to be pedantic, but neither United or Chelsea won at Villa Park this season. Our away record is better than both of theirs.

united will go to places managed by one of bacon faces minions and win.

bout time his cartel was broke up the league is full of teams eager to roll over for them twats.

Imagine if half of the league was managed by bobbys old pals, the league'd be ours before xmas
