The signs have been there with the faltering barca performances this season, too reliant on xavi, iniesta who were gash. They need to give the younger lads a chance. Merlin was their best player by a mile. How Torres still gets called up is beyond belief. Casillas needs to take up fly fishing, failing that he'd be better off spending more time with that beautiful missus of his. Still fancy em to take 2nd in the group though.

Unfortunately, he was not for the full 90 minutes. He was very good in the first half but began giving away the ball and playing very poor passes every other touch in the second half. Some of that may be down to having been kicked in to the air one too many times by a Dutch player, but it was poor, regardless.

David Silva and Jordi Alba were the only two players that had decent matches, and even they had poor moments.

Much of the performances are down to Del Bosque, though. But he'll blame Silva and Casillas (and has already begun dong so) to avoid garnering ire.

Oh did he go after them in post-game?
