Big fan of the Japanese referee, I've seen him before and he's excellent. No messing about, doesn't get carried away and is pretty moderate. Just a shame we can't bring foreign refs to the PL to replace the shite we get stuck with

....then again, so am I. I feel exactly the same way. Maybe when it gets to the knockout stages, it may get better. Still, Spain against Holland tomorrow evening may be alright.

Our refs are the best in Europe apart from the odd exceptions like Rozzoli. Our refs let the games flow so much more. In the CL they are far too whistle happy. The games are pretty much all worse to watch than a good Prem game because they're just stop-start-stop....stop....stop...opposition want the ball kicked out so the ref makes the team in possession do it...stop-start-stop. A bit of football breaks out on rare occasions.

For me personally I'm 100% sure that City being good = losing interest in non-City football of any kind.

Yeah, I remember him at the last World Cup, he is good. Its a shame that referees from "smaller" (Not the best word, but you know what I mean) countries, get stigmatized, simply because the league they referee in isn't as strong as the big European leagues. At the last World Cup, one of the best referees was from Uzbekistan. A crap referee, is a crap referee, and a good one is a good one, it doesn't matter where they're from.
