Offside judgement (Laporte v Wolves)

head or feet in an offside then yes, but parts of the shirt is silly, also , this thread is going round and round, it was offside, the game ended well, move on.
Head is a crap one to use as more often than not the striker is moving towards the goal and defended away so that would favour the defending team.

Offside was originally to stop strikers standing on the keeper and gaining an advantage. 1cm or 20cm gains no advantage at all and therefore isn’t in the spirit of the law as was intended.
I was going to say something similar in my post. It's insane that we've somehow lost sight of this to the point where we're trying to forensically separate players to the nearest millimetre.

There’s no such thing as level now.

And too close to call means that, as before var and if var wasn’t there, it’s offside as the linesman flagged it offside. He disallowed the goal, not var. var just didn’t overturn that decision.
Ok. Amazing that there is no such thing as level now. It must be the only industry in the world where they can measure exactly and the tolerance is zero.

Even in aircraft manufacture nothing is exact. Tolerances are tight, say to within a couple of thou, but not exact. VAR is effectively claiming it works to tighter tolerances than used in aerospace. Its bollocks.
