Offside rule changed after Silva's goal against Villa

2nd goal will probably result in another rule change ;-)
FFP didn't work. Banning City from Europe didn't work.

Ignoring City and pretending this is the first time season they're top of the league. Didn't work.

Change the off side rules and immediately City score a goal so the liner flags off side. Doesn't work.

Whats next to try and stop City?

This is so shit, another rule that favours defence. So if the player is caught offside, he is out of the game until when, a defender can linger on the ball for 5, 10 seconds and what then, the offside player cannot challenge.

that is a great point and will be used to slow the game down by other teams

You can bet they’ll be something else along very soon

Absolute howler from Sian Massey tonight. Flag should stay down.
After van Dijk got injured, the football world was crying about how the linesman’s flag should go up earlier.

After last week’s far too over the top furore about our goal against Villa, the officials were probably on edge tonight about offsides and City. It’s Dean Smith’s fault more than it is Sian Massey’s.

Also, you tell Under 8s in their first ever football training session “play to the whistle, always play to the whistle, no matter what”!

I’ve heard in the grapevine that the Premier League are installing mounted machine guns at the entrance to the Etihad in an attempt to stop us.

It won’t, it’s only applicable immediately after the defender deliberately plays the ball, so, in the case of Mings, whilst they’re still bringing it fully in control.

Ridiculous rule in the first place, but at least it was the same for everyone.
Changing the rules halfway through a season is even more ridiculous.
Will they change the rules again after another controversial one tonight?
