Offside rule changed after Silva's goal against Villa

Absolute howler from Sian Massey tonight. Flag

Absolute howler from Sian Massey tonight. Flag should stay down.
Liners are apparently told to keep flags down, so not sure why Sian raised flag, more so that there wasnt an offside at the time. Hope it doesnt result in her being targetted or punished when many refs get away with far worse "errors".

Ridiculous rule in the first place, but at least it was the same for everyone.
Changing the rules halfway through a season is even more ridiculous.
Will they change the rules again after another controversial one tonight?

They haven’t changed the rule. They’ve added additional clarification as it wasn’t the same for everyone.

Bear in mind it’s IFAB who have issued the clarification, not pgmol.

FFP didn't work. Banning City from Europe didn't work.

Ignoring City and pretending this is the first time season they're top of the league. Didn't work.

Change the off side rules and immediately City score a goal so the liner flags off side. Doesn't work.

Whats next to try and stop City?
The season will be abandoned for Covid if we’re winning in May.

I disagree. She waited until Berny turned back, at that point the attack had stopped and she could flag as per the rules as there wasnt an imminent chance of City scoring. The ref should have blown for the offside. He didnt and we scored and the piss boiling started.
I fully accept berny was onside and she was wrong in that respect though.
Rubbish. If the attack stopped how did we score?

How do you know the attack had stopped did Bernado tell you?

When he received the ball he was running towards the goal so she did not flag thereby allowing VAR to make the decision if Berny scored but he ended up near the dead ball line and started to go back. At that point Bernies attack had ended so she flagged, the ref ignored her, Bernie passed it back and the rest is history.
OK it looks simple Bernie passed it, Cancelo scored but what if instead of shooting he passed to Sterling who passed to etc etc who then shoots and we score. How far back does Var go.
Anyway, did you see the look she gave the Ref :-) I get them off Mrs Mist all the time/

If Bernardo turning away from goal is end of attack then the flag should never stay down.
It doesn’t necessarily follow that you have to be facing goal to attack/shoot/score.
He could have cut back and crossed it and it be headed in but on your logic the game has to be stopped when he cuts back to make the cross.
I’m fairly certain the referees are not told to do as you suggest either.

They should change the rules so that a team cant win by 5 goals if a flag is raised.

Its our own fault.
