Old Maine Road photos thread

Always blows my mind a bit that there's now a whole generation of City fans, many of them now grown adults, that weren't born when Maine Road closed or were too young to remember anything about it

Seems like yesterday we moved to the Etihad and I can vividly remember everything about Maine Road and matches we played there

Although i live in NI i was born in England...my Dad was from Moss Side (hence why im a Blue) but because he was in the Army my earliest years were in the South of England and Germany. I was born in '75, so growing up supporting City down there was tough enough, but he never took me to Maine Road.....except one time we drove passed when visiting my Nan in '84. i was only 9 yo, but i remember being blown away seeing a proper stadium, and of the team i supported (from a distance).

The only time i actually got inside Maine Road was for that Oasis gig in 1996 :-(

What gets me is I see old fuckers at the game and think ......old ****.

Then I find out I'm ten years older than em. Looking in the mirror is a shock too.

I'm grateful I'm still here seeing the success...unlike thousands from the Kippax standing terraces in the sky.
