Aah, Manchester winters! Fucking freezing, it was, at times.
Where did they go? Disappeared, with global warming…
Early 90s
Early 90s
Picture (Views 44 )The wall section next to the Main Entrance was the players changing rooms, can remember when we used to wait outside for autographs climbing up the drain pipes and looking through the vent , players bollock naked shouting at us . Right pervs we was .Those were the days.Early 90s
Thats a great photograph
Was stood just below where they came in. Seem to remember quite a few in donkey jackets.Remember when Spurs came in late?
You know they'd have scraped the lines, given them an orange ball and played on this pitch in the 70s!
Why? There were no numbered seats. Only the Main Stand had numbered seats at that stage.I bought tickets for Platt Lane a couple of times back in mid sixties. 5/-.
I usually went on the Kippax but a couple of times I took an older guy who would not have been happy there. I can’t remember the number situation, but I bought tickets to ensure the older guy was ok. Platt lane was pretty full both times. Why? There were no numbered seats. Only the Main Stand had numbered seats at that stage.
I can’t see the point. Maine Road had a 63,000 capacity and the biggest attendance I can recall before promotion was for Huddersfield on New Years Day 1966 when 47,171 were there.
The first match I can ever recall buying a ticket for was the Everton Cup match in 1966. I remember them being sold in the turnstiles at Maine Road on a Sunday morning. After promotion, even the United matches were pay at the gate. I also bought tickets for the replay at Goodison Park and the second replay at Wolverhampton.
Yes I was also at the Everton game 63,000,that was before promotion by the way. Why? There were no numbered seats. Only the Main Stand had numbered seats at that stage.

Could be wrong but was it Mark Britner ?There was a fan that had a Mazda RX7 with the number plate K10PAX and he parked it right by the souvenir shop every game I was dead jealous
