Old Maine Road photos thread

Im too young to remember, but when the north stand roof went on, it divided the north stand from the Kippax and the north stand ended in a straight line down the sideline, so presume then!!

Maine Road was pretty symmetrical at one poiny (tunnels in each corner i think) before it became a patchwork quilt in later years…
The North Stand Roof never went on. It used to be the open Scoreboard End. That was demolished in the late 1960s to build the North Stand along with it’s roof.

It did change after a year from being a place where people stood to seats being installed m.

Never had a seasonticket back in those days, so only really got to games when a friend of my dad's couldn't be arsed going. I've a couple of photos at home I'd love to dig out, young puppy fat Nebuchadnezzar stood beaming infront of the Kippax on the last night game v Fulham. Bizarrely enough we have a photo of me with Sun Jihais mum and dad behind the dugout too. No photos of the day but my final time inside Maine Road was the game v Sunderland, the last time we scored there.
