Hope they manage to stay up for a big Latic fan who I worked with but sadly passed at a young age with the big C.

I went to a game of theirs against Sutton a few weeks back and chatted with some of their fans. I told them I was a City fan and they were decent with me and were just resigned to being relegated.

Their team was utter shite on the night, so I could see why they were so down.

Guess when they were overachieving and we were underachieving that they enjoyed giving the bigg’un to us. I doubt they will be doing that to us anytime soon.

I genuinely feel for their older fans. They’re thick and thin supporters and their twilight years are seeing their team descend further into oblivion.

There’s 4 of them I know, the longest serving fan, Trevor, who otherwise is a decent lad absolutely detests us, the only team he hates more is the Rags, he’s very vocal with his support for the Dippers if they are on TV.

One of the others has the Rags as his second team, so much so he actually had the back of an Oldham shirt sewed to the front of a Rag shirt (the yellow and green hideous one).

I don’t hate them back as much as they hate City but it’s cathartic when they get beat.

Of all of those mutual friends we have I don't think any of them have ever been to Old Trafford. They went to Oldham while they were in PL then changed into rags

They are fucked, not only behind but have much harder fixtures than their rivals. Wouldn’t surprise me if they slipped down non league or went bust as well

I had no real dealings with them until we moved up to Yonnerland. I try and go a few times a season both to them and Rochdale.

I’ve not had loads of anti City rhetoric up here, but I don’t try to encourage tribalism. i guess it doesn’t really matter now there are 90 places between the two clubs.

20 years working alongside inbred Biffos, during our darkest days, who to a man were half Owdam, half rag means I will raise a glass if they go down. Fcuk the lot of them. :D
