Zinchenko as a back is a stand in at best. I can remember a game when Navas and Fernandinho were our backs with Kolarov at centre half. Clichy Zab Kolarov were all released at the same time. With Mendys and Danilos injuries to date we are dependent on Delph and Zinchenko to stand in. I had hoped that Maffeo and Angelino could have made it as back ups to Walker but. Delph and Zinchenko are liable to make a mistake when filling in at full back and they often turn out to be costly.

The criticism is a bit harsh. Full backs who have been playing in that position all their life could have made the mistake Zinchenko made last night.
Not 'could have', but 'DO' they make it weekly. Masuaku did it 3ice in one half against us before getting pulled. I can't remember a match in which Walker hasn't done it at least once a game this season. Bellerin did a few times against us too.

As a matter of fact I think it would be easier naming fullbacks who succeeded in avoiding this mistake against us. Azpilicueta? That's the only one I can remember.

A common fullback mistake that is compounded by conflicting choices andathe mistakes of others.

Walker does it all the time, but he's so fast and when he recovers, people 'forgets' about these mistakes.

That goal last night made me think that Left Back has been our weak spot for as long as long as I have been watching city (i.e. getting on for 30 years). We have had some decent players but form has been patchy and many have been at the end of their careers when their legs have been shot.

Zinchenko looked every bit the attacking midfielder in the lead up to the goal. Positionaly terrible and so slow to react ti the cross going in behind him. That said he was good on the ball and scored a cracking pen, he is a player but not a LB.

If Mendy struggles all year again we should go in for Lucas Digne from Everton.

Masuaku and Bellerin are fucking gash at defending.

You've missed the point. Who are the good defensive fullbacks?
How have I missed the point? Zinchenko can't fucking defend to save his life, but that's fine because these hopeless ****s can't either?
What kind of point is that?
