Pep said on friday that" he will have a long career, hopefully here",i hope we do keep him,he is learning all the time and i would be happy to have him back up to benny,if benny ever stays fit that is

Good assessment, I tend to agree.
I mean if you want to agree with @Neville Kneville fantasy. Sure. But let's not pretend it has anything to do with reality.

Since his run of games began, he has led the whole team in tackles per game, so when Neville says "He can get an occasional foot in," what he really means is the 'occasional foot' is that he does it more than anyone else in the entire squad per game.

And when he say "he loses most headers" what he really means is that Zinchencko wins 2.5 headers per game, 3rd best to only John and Dihno.

And when he says "he ... gets left stranded ... by journeyman players" what he means is that Zinchencko gave no breath to the likes of Willian, Pedro and Odoi- you know 'journeymen' he shut down.

Generally, when Neville gets into his fact free diatribes, I've learnt to ignore it. As I've come to realize most see it for what it is... Neville's Fantasy.

Bur you've forced my hand by legitimizing his fantasy. Why? :(

Because his 'tackles' are exactly as described & you are being completely & utterly ridiculous.

Zinchenko: our best defender.

Ffs, don't start again with this kind of childish nonsense.

He doesn’t say that just provides some stats to back up he is nowhere near as shit as you think he is.

Good player with a first class attitude.

Simple courtesy. If I am going to speak negatively about something you wrote to someone else, it's only fair that I alert you to what I've done.

Why the fuck do you want to speak negatively, to someone else, about me not having the same opinion as you ?

Most fullbacks I see, aren't very good & are still better defensively than Zinchenko. Including the guy who was up against Leroy Sané last night.

Zinchenko is a better footballer than most, or at least he is now he's showing his true ability on the ball.

But he has no awareness & no recovery pace, & isn't great 1v1 even against average players. He is making a good fist of an awkward job.

But he isn't a real fullback & when he has to be, he regularly makes potentially game losing decisions.

@Dax777 I think Zinchenko is a good midfielder with admirable attitude, but he lacks athleticism of a 'real' fullback, same could be said about Delph. Using a midfielder there ruins the whole idea of fullbacks as athletes capable of sprinting back and forth, creating superiorities in both phases of play.

'Transfer offtop': IMO it would be logical to replace both Delph and Zinchenko by a 'real' homegrown fullback, providing a competition for Mendy and freeing 1 foreign spot at once. Sam Lee has repeatedly mentioned City's interest in Chilwell. If it's true, I can't see Zin staying unless Pep finds the way to use him in midfield.

Pep doesn't use orthodox fullbacks
