do we need a thread?

it's 54 years ago, what other death/incident do we commemorate of this small scale 54 years after the event?

time to move on imo.
Absolutely this.

Worth noting that in just over three weeks time it'll be the 54th anniversary of the Winter Hill air disaster. A total of 35 people died just up the road from Manchester, most of which were manx and english. Such a tragic thing to happen in the region, especially so close in time (and geography) to the Munich air disaster. RIP

Respect and sympathy to all who lost their lives and family members on that day. Which is far more than that scummy club have ever offered them.
Couple of million more sympathy pounds in the coffers.

Here Here.

Lets also not forget those from the region, who have been largely been forgotten from the Dan-Air flight 1008, which flew from Manchester and which perished on a Tenerife mountain side in 1980, and those involved in the Ringway tragedy in 1985

The Munich disaster never seems to stop the rags singing derogatory songs about Hillsborough or Heysel. I respect the individuals who lost their lives and their families but as a football club who cash in on this disaster every year, they can fuck off!

RIP to those who perished. Nothing to do with football rivalry when something like this is talked about. For that reason i'm sure the term 'rag' could have been left out of this particular OP.

Rags is what the United fans called themselves, before the sugar daddies took over the club?

"Any plans for the weekend, Charlie?"

"Aye, I'm off to watch the rags play Wolves."

Well known fact.

It was a tragic accident no doubt. But it was such a long time ago now and before most of us were even born. There have been many other tragic accidents in the intervening years which barely seem to get a mention by comparison. RIP always but time to let it go and stop harping on about it.

this was well before i was born and no direct effect on me so i really dont give a fuck.

harsh maybe ...but true.
