One away win in 105 games when losing at half time

Mentally we are just beaten when we concede first in big game. Players just start to feel sorry for themselves and just start passing backwards and sideways to further avoid mistakes.
It’s not just that. It’s also that our style of play as a team nor a number of our individual players, suit chasing a game.

We’re the perfect team when taking the lead and slowing the game down, passing it round at the tempo we want, tiring out the opposition and picking them off

However, we have some players who aren’t suited to fast counter attacks, transitioning from back to front and back again when we’re chasing a game. We slow down to a stop on counter attacks and pass inane passes about inside and let defences get back and set. We also lack pace in midfield.

We almost have to score first.

Mentality is huge. Really, really huge.

It's why Federer, Nadal and Jokovic win so many gram slam finals. On the other side of that coin, it's why Colin Montgomery led the European order of merit and was the EU's top golfer for 6 straight years, and yet NEVER won a major in his entire career. Even when only needing a par and a bogey on the 17th tee, he managed to fuck it up.

It's why Sterling will not score in a really big game so long as he has a hole in his arse.
Didn't sterling score at anfield..
Though I understand where you're coming from!

CL will be a real test for our mentality, Pep never got us further than last 8 and now there does not seem to be any real outsiders in last 8.
While Real M and Juventus/Liverpool form is not what is used to be they are strong teams.

Bayern, Dortmund, Chelsea, PSG can hurt us big time tactically.

If I just make up a random draw for the last 8 nearly anybody can beat anyone:
PSG-City
Chelsea-Bayern
Real-Dortmund
Juve-Pool
