Cant believe it, just got what I thought was the first 4 books in the Dark Tower series and there actually books 2,3,4 and 6 so iv gotta buy number 1 now! Cheapest place so far is Borders believe it or not!

Borders is no way to buy books. Try your library.

Well iv just been to borders, didnt realise the online prices are different to in store. I only went 'cos I had a voucher from last crimbo! Got 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'City of Men' on DVD!

Forgot to mention, they have a lot of 'classics' for only £2. The actual quality aint great but so long as you can read it it I dont suppose it matters!

Don't normally read these types of book (I normally read crime/thrillers) but was given it to read on the journey back from M/C.
Ma, He Sold Me For A Few Cigarettes by Martha Long. Pretty harrowing true story of a young Dublin girl abused, beaten, raped etc and how her life was. Took me a few pages to understand the Irish "sayings" for things but I couldn't put it down. PM me and I'll post it to you if you fancy it.

I'm having to do one of my least favourite library jobs today, namely withdrawing and deleting books en masse. We're getting rid of two small skips full. Completely bonkers....

We'll probably knock some out on booksale for about 5p each. It's still depressing to be getting rid of perfectly good books, some of which have never been taken out. Even more depressing is the fact that most are junior titles. I might have a ring round to see if any schools or hospitals might want them, you never know.

I'd be gutted doing that ... my dad's house is like a library !! Every cupboard available is full of books !!He hates parting with books but him and his mates swap. I remenber when I was young my dad to used to take the books he'd read back to Hyde market and swap them for the one's he hadn't read. Do they still do that ?

Thanks a lot Glenda, you might get that PM one day but at the moment I have a pile of books (9 to be precise, 3 more on the way) in front of me! Iv not been able to read for a while due to meds and concentration so while I can read im going mad lol

JOTS - you really should take a few boxes home and flog em on ebay. Its a travesty they just throw them out without finding a place for them! You could even open a discount bookstore! Hospitals, schools, prisons, childrens homes (we take crimbo presents to one in Wythenshawe every year with work)
