One/two more player(s)

Good evening all, it might not be the appropriate thread, so apologies.

Is the purchase of Jovetic essentially the replacement for what would have been Isco, or a completely different scenario?

Imho they would both take the left position in a 4-3-3 formation, or in a 4-2-3-1. But as the boss has said he wants to players for every position, we might very well have been after both of them.
Jojo is the only player we currently have capable of playing convincingly in that position, unless Pellegrini will use Kun there as well.
Nasri could do a fairly good job there, but is so much better played centrally.

So I wouldn't be overly surprised if we see yet another wide man come in before the t-window shuts.

Many thanks Matt

Can't see any more additions.

Kolarov will stay as we need back up to Clichy and this is a notoriously difficult position to fill.

As for CB we've got loads of cover - St. Vincent,Nasty,J Lo, Micah,Garcia.

I would say a cb is a certainty. Tolm reckons 3 more so the other 2 must be young players.

IMO Leighton Baines would be a good shout - bid the 18M that the rags won't and rub their noses in it again..........

We could possibly offer a player exchange or let Everton have a loan player for the season.......perhaps Guidetti, would be able to see if he can do it in the PM

But 18m for a 28 year old who's not a good defender? Sure he's an improvement going forward but I don't think he's worth 18m. Rather us go in for a young player we could get for half the price.

We really do need a true left winger. Whether that left winger is a player with potential or an established star it remains to be seen.

In a 4-3-3

RW: Navas, Milner
LW: Jovetic, Aguero?
AM: Silva, Nasri
ST: Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko

Seems like were missing someone who can cross from the left. We really only have a second choice left back with any sort of cross on him.

We won't start the season with seven defenders and no Garcia doesn't count!

Yes he does. If the coach plays him there all preseason, then perhaps its where he is going to play.

If,through circumstance or necessity,Garcia and kolarov end up on the pitch together, and,God forbid, get any extended match time,we will struggle to achieve our aims.

Kolarov, Yes! Garcia, NO! Seeriously Fantasy, I promise you a different Garcia this season. This is a very talented player who had a poor season.

We need to lose a couple of players too, at present we have two surplus players re the CL A-list squad even without the suggested purchase of Salvio and another defender.

Sinclair is an obvious candidate to move on, and probably one of Barry or Garcia but not both and if Salvio is signed Milner's place looks under threat.

GK: Hart, Pantilimon, Wright

DEF: Zabaleta, Richards, Kompany, Nastasic, Lescott, Clichy, Kolarov

DEF MID: Yaya, Fernandinho, Barry, Rodwell, Garcia

ATT MID: Navas, Silva, Nasri, Sinclair, Jovetic, Milner

STRIKERS: Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo

That's 24 players but only 22 can be named in the A-list as Richards is the only club-trained player so the other 3 club-trained places are left vacant.

The likes of Guidetti, Johansen, Suarez etc can all be named in the B-List as they fall within the U-21 cut-off date. Boyata would be another club-trained player for the A-list but I'm not sure he's part of Pelle's plans.
