Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

How was the fans opinions canvassed prior to sending a letter to the chairman claiming to represent them?

Good question. 1894, the DSA, Trade Union Blues and Canal Street Blues are elected by their members and of course City Matters are the clubs elected Fan Resprentative Board to make representations to the club on behalf of the clubs supporters. The Foodbank work tirelessly with both fans of the club, but also those within the local community and Solid Citizen was created to canvas the views of it's members. Both are of course very entitled to express their views publicly.

As for this particular issue. I am aware 1894 have carried out extensive dialogue with their members regarding ticketing issues and I can tell you from a City Matters point of view that we are often contacted by supporters asking us to highlight these issues.

I'd also add that the response to the letter has been almost universally supportive so I think its probably right to assume that the letter is fair reflect of the opinions held by the club's supporter. Would you disagree?

Considering matchday revenues are only about 10% of overall revenues, for the pain the club are causing to fans, I don't see the positives. It feels like the club are being greedy at the expense of hard core fans. That just isn't right. Man City's leaders have done many things well, but I hope they are not becoming arrogant. We don't have to look too far to see what happens to a club that becomes arrogant. I don't want to be like them. Come on City, do the right thing here.

We're the official supporters club approached for cooperation on this matter ?

From what I can see, they were approached and didn't sign, given all the other groups (including Canal Street who are an OSC branch themselves..)

But they have reposted the letter on Twitter this morning?

You say 7 fan groups are involved, would it not be better to amalgamate these 7 into 1 large group? I’ve no idea if it could be done, or if there would even be an appetite for it from the various groups?

I couldn't agree or disagree without seeing the results of the opinions gathered from a representative group of fans.

Whilst I agree in principal with the letter I wonder why no one has answered the question about the OSC. Are they involved or not and if not why not?

Unless you get the backing of the supporters club i doubt it will get anywhere, oh good luck with the official supporters club, they might say something but won't back it up

You can't disagree on what, your own opinion?

These are all supporters, many representing groups of supporters who obviously wouldn't have signed off on it if they didn't agree with the letter - what's your issue?

However you have to agree that the largest GROUP of supporters is, whether fortunately or unfortunately, the OSC and they have been around a lot longer than our other groups so it would be good to know if they were asked, if they refused to sign or maybe they weren't asked. Sorry :-)

7 independent groups is a strength unlike the OSC blob that represents no one but the past

I don't have an issue I have asked how did the fan groups canvass fans opinions on the content of the letter sent to the chairman signed in their name? , for example the number one issue on this site regards tickets is not season tickets but the inexplicable number of tickets that appear on the re selling sites with no purchase history needed while blues who go through the club miss out as they don't meet some fictitious criteria yet this isn't mentioned in the letter. So what data do these groups have that confirms season ticket issues are the number 1 most pressing issue on supporters minds to the extent a joint letter is needed to the chairman?

I am not interested in what you think you can see, I would think most people want to know officially, we're they asked or not.
If they weren't this letter is meaningless if they were and do not agree with the letter ,what is their rational for not being a signatory.
