Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

It happened to myself.. diagnosed with a serious illness whilst in hospital I missed the re-new window my season ticket got re-sold.
And that was that The end of my match going days , forty five years of match going eighty odd away grounds . Countless appeals to the club but got nowhere.
Loyalty counts for absolutely nothing.
That's just so bad. Do they just not give a dam.

Not always. I’ve got a mate whose dedicated his working live to keeping our Country safe and has lived near military bases around the globe. He’s retired now and doesn’t have the points. He wants to go to all the European aways and relies on pedestrian ticket criteria reaching his points (or not). He gambles on getting some flights and tickets but can’t always do that for Madrid and Italy where there are thorough ID checks. Faster working ticket criteria could result in us having bigger away followings for European aways.
And the club putting on subsidised flights for every single away game.

Danny,

When the club stated the numbers for tickets passed over to official reselling sites did anyone question whether this total included tickets relisted on the exchange?

It’s only anecdotal evidence but when regular season tickets holders near me miss a match it’s invariably the ticket ends up in the hands of a tourist/neutral and some have mentioned they bought a package which included a meal etc or ticketing website. I think the club are being a bit cute with the numbers.
Don’t City sell these meal packages direct as well, so they wouldn’t be included in the 550.

He's tall enough to patch up the holes in the roof of their current ground without needing ladders.
True mate lol. I know I’m not DW’s biggest fan but it’s testament to him that he’s respected by so many Blues.

Now Danny needs to get up that crane and bolt on the new roof!

Both good questions.

From what Dan has already said, I would add that I’ve raised a number of the anecdotal examples you mentioned with the Club (a few raised on Bluemoon). The Club’s answer is that these tickets were purchased from the resale platform, and then could have been sold or passed elsewhere.

City include their offsite packages in the 550.

On what basis do you think these fans are tourists/neutrals. Do you speak to them?

The seasoncard holders next to me are never there in midweek or at Cup games. There are always different people next to me at Cup games. Very often in half and half scarves. That doesn't make them neutral or tourists.

To me, it seems very obvious that the club has already made the decision on price increases and is stalling any meetings until it is too late to reverse them
Whoever said that the club was waiting for the official news to break of a positive 115 outcome and then release the 25/26 ST price increases has hit nail onth'ed

Or they are reviewing their pricing plans following recent pressure and freezes from Liverpool and West Ham?

You’d like to think so, but then again clubs like Newcastle have increased there’s
I don’t trust them and I know what they want to do but personally I think following recent noise about ticket prices, tourists, corporate and agency tickets etc. they know that there will be a major backlash if they go through with more price increases now.

Good point. There’s still a chance that they read the room on this. If they don’t then more fool them.

Yep. We’re at a tipping point & if they want to poke the bear they’ll have to own the consequences

But if they are doing that, it's simple courtesy to come back to City Matters and say that they're still discussing the issue and will come back when they're closer to a decision.

Offering them a meeting then refusing to honour that and communicate with CM in an adult fashion is taking the piss, and why I fully support the guys in this. We had a situation, when I was coming to the end of my stint on the group, where we agreed something with Danny, but he came back and refused to implement it, clearly because he'd been told by De Vries or Soriano not to.

That's the first time I really felt "What's the fucking point" and was quite happy to see the back of it.
