This is really really sad. I know it might feel too late, but I'm sure we can do our bit to stop it happening. Supporters across the country have started working together like I've never seen before with the #StopExploitingLoyalty campaign. It might take a few years, but I think they could get stuff done.I’m in my 60s. My dad and his best mate, who became his brother in law, started going in the 1950s. Dad took me, I took my much younger sister. We still go, along with our sons in their 20s. We have season tickets. But I think that will be the last generation. I’ve small grandchildren who come occasionally but the chances of them getting a season ticket and carrying on the tradition is highly unlikely. Too expensive, too difficult to organise seats together. And tbh, I don’t know whether I’d want them to get ‘bitten’ like we did. Probably better off supporting a smaller team.
Personally, it feels easier to fight against it than to give up. Think it'd kill me if I gave up. Giving up on City would feel a bit like giving up on life.
