Open Letter on Season Tickets and Pricing | Club announce price freeze on "general admission season tickets & PL match tickets" for next season (p163)

First job was to get a price freeze
something some clubs have done and some clubs haven't, so the club could have gone either way on this and getting the freeze is a win.
Alongside that clarity on pricing models and flexi gold is still sketchy, but hopefully it seems positive discussion are still going on.

The straw that broke the camels back, viagogo, isn't a quick fix, these ticketing partners will be in a contract, so they are not imediately gotten rid of but fans and CM can keep the pressure up that whe. cantracts end with any of the 9 they are not renewed.

small victories like this still count as a positive.

Just wait until they decide we HAVE to buy cup schemes as part of being season ticket holders to make up for so many cancelling them... they will still get what they want in the end, just might take a few Years

how dads cant buy season ticket for kids just amazes me that should be a give
Great point ! For me, it is my major concern ie the future…..
I have a 7 year old and there is no option on another season card. So, how do you build your fan base …er I just answered my own question …we don’t want to

As others have said, a partial victory but still it’s a start. More work to do
Can anyone remember the last time we had a price freeze? Was it pre takeover?
The club make it difficult to find old pricing pages and do year on year comparisons, probably by design

Probably a bit of a reach but is it also another ‘soft signal’ that they’re extremely confident over the 115?

I think we should look at making the block or even the next one along as well next to the away fans a special £30 area (ie same as the away fans). Tickets go on sale for the games on a rolling basis to try and entice younger fans in or those priced out back in. Seems odd an away fan is paying 50% or less than a home fan is for a seat 3 yards away?
Although the reverse is true when we go away.

Everton threatening to ban anyone selling to the legal tout sites. While we’re actively courting them as ‘partners’

True but we'll see. There needs to be some linkage even so. One of the complaints about. ticket exchange is that you get the pro-rata price if you put the ticket on there, but the club can sell it for the prevailing price for that game.

At City Matters we talked about potentially paying more to the ticket holder for a costlier game which would be a lot easier to implement if you had a better linkage between the ST price and the matchday prices. That might make ticket exchange more attractive.
Or, the club could just of the exchange as now, but guarantee to ‘buy it back’ for EVERY game. That way, the club might make a bit more but they’re carrying the risk of it not selling.

Absolutely. We need upfront transparency on pricing. The Villa game, on a Tuesday night just before a trip to Wembley. is seemingly priced as a Category A game, which is ridiculous. If you have a 3-category system then they're Category B. And even that's too expensive currently (£61-£78).

I don't particularly like category pricing but at least everyone knows what the match categories and associated prices are going to be when the categories are published before the upcoming season.

But we need to look at the whole pricing structure, which is completely ridiculous. Our cheapest ticket for that Villa game is higher than the most expensive at Anfield for any game. And it's 70% higher than Arsenal's lowest price for a Category B game against Villa. The club has taken advantage of demand, based on our consistent successes under Pep but that's opportunism, not a strategy. Because when the success runs out, as it has this season, opportunism doesn't work and we're left with a mess like this.

I'd also like to see a clear linkage between season ticket prices and matchday prices, so that if you buy 19 matchday tickets, those will be 10%/15%/20%, or an absolute amount, more than the equivalent season ticket.
Not sure how Aston Villa can be both a category A game but then not be on the exchange guarantee list.
Presumably Palace would not be category A but they are on the list…….

Their recent form suggests a kick in the balls is coming for those “general admission” season card holders.

How about a tenner at the bookies on it being something like compulsory cup scheme attendance if you want to renew? Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Quite good for Season Ticket holders, not great for matchday attendees. But it’s still a small win that I reckon would not have happened if it weren’t for the recent protest.

It’s still £43 for children at City next season when it’s £9 for children at Liverpool. Plus it did take them seven months to organise a meeting with City Matters about it. So let’s not start raving about the club listening to us.

A very small win, but still a win of some sorts.

Good perspective. It's a win. But a slight one.

Essentially they've said "ok, we'll fuck you as badly next season as we are now instead of getting worse".

This isn't good enough for me. I wish to be unfucked entirely.

Not sure how this can be dressed up as any kind of victory, it's a stalemate with no climb down. The ticket prices for non season ticket holders and children remain scandalous, there is no clarity on new season tickets, and the ticket partners will still have 1st dibs on the huge games, i hope the protests continue on saturday as i don't think this a decent resolution. Kids tickets need capping at 20 quid anywhere in the stadium, and no ticket should be above 70 quid for any game, and the lesser games should be 40/45 not 60+

because they make it up as they go along opportunistically, decisions being made by people who have a lack of understanding of local fans
