Second best keeper I've seen in a City shirt behind Joe Hart......


Must note (before anyone points out) Schmeichel was good for us but James did a lot more for us obviously because he was here longer!!
 
Seaman spent most of his time with us looking horrified at our comedy defending. It was just too much of a culture shock for him.
 
Culture shock is correct. Came for a nice pay off under an affable manager and got thrown to the fucking lions. Way out of his depth.
 
Possibly the worst keeper I've seen at City and that's not an exaggeration! Obviously he was a great keeper but he was slow, hesitant and error prone by the time he came to us.

I still have admiration for the guy though as he packed it in knowing that the money the club saved on his wages would be the only way we could fund the signing of David James, who really was an excellent keeper for us.<br /><br />-- Sun Nov 13, 2011 11:50 am --<br /><br />

That is bollocks. See my post above, he retired mid season when he could have sat and coined it for the rest of his contract.
 
He was shit! I remember shitting it every time the opposition came towards goal. We had just had scmeichel who was top quality, then along he comes, thank fuck david james bailed us out! Makes you realise how valuable a good keeper is.
