Opposing players discussion thread

A lot of players will put a shift in when they play against us, in the hope that they catch Peps eye and we want to buy them.
I would be more inclined to see how much of a shift they put in week in and week out , not just when they play us.
In saying that, I would buy Watkins just to boil some more villa fans piss. ;-))

Great thread.

Recent games I would say Rice and Douglas Luiz have been stand out.

I always liked the look of Luiz but he seems to have really come on. Family member of mine is a big Villa fan and he think's he's technically brilliant and would love to see him given a role further forward.

Rice has come on no end in the last 18 months. Still a good age too. Biggest compliment I could give is I don't think he would look out of place in our midfield nowadays.

On the other side, can anyone tell me seriously how Iwobi gets paid to play football? Absolutely dross.

Tariq Lamptey
Declan Rice
Douglas Luiz
Marco Verratti
Mohamed Salah
Charles De Ketelaere
Connor Gallagher
Alphonse Areola
Christopher Nkunku
Ben Johnson

I'm impressed with Mikel Antonio and his story would be an interesting one to read. Admire how he's developed from a Division 2 winger into an impressive top flight number 9. Love watching him play except v us but our Boys seem to have his measure. Still, he's a real handful to most other defences, which is nice. Respect.

Watkins was very impressive and looks like Pep's kind of strikes. Workds hard quick technically decent.

I also enjoy watching
Jarrod Bowen
Tariq Lamptey
Tyrese Campbell
Chris Willock
Declan Rice
Lewis Dunk
Bukayo Saka

For comedy...Harry Maguire

Rice impressive.
No Arsenal players impressed me when we battered them, and having seen Smith Rowe last night against the scum, I was surprised at how slow and tired he looked in the 2nd half. I rate Ramsdale very highly though.
Reece James is a superb player imho. And Chelsea are far better when Kante plays.
I used to rate Rashford but he seems totally lost at the moment. Ollie Watkins would do a good job for us - as would Danny Ings, whom I've always rated highly.
This thread makes me appreciate what we've got even more :-)
