Alright chaps. I expect you are getting quite a few of us looking oh here today. I thought I'd put my 2 pennies in. In regards to the poster asking why we are not making a stand, there is a group that was formed last year called the black scarf movement (named as black was the only colour Nike haven't used as a kit colour) and we had over 2000 people demonstrating before the Swansea game in December. It was all over the press, Sky sports etc even a German TV crew that got wind of us when Schalke beat us in the CL where there and the prices of tickets was one of the issues being raised. The core Arsenal support do stay away, all the pubs around Holloway road, Finsbury Park are rammed with Arsenal that simply refuse to pay these extortionate prices (especially seeing as our dear Stan from the US is hell bent on stripping us of our assets). It's a disgrace and in regards to paying high prices away, you should see what he had to pay at Chelsea and even QPR last year. I even paid well over £50 to see you lot earlier this season. These people are living in the clouds and its us mugs that have to take the brunt of it.

There are also other supporter clubs such AISA who have lobbeyed the board for close to 2 years to reduce ticket prices. These people just wont listen however. I applaud your stand to send back these tickets, it's a fucking disgrace.

As for the "Unfortunately a lot of their supporters seem to have lapped it up." You don't know many of us do you chap? If you think that we pray to the altar of this board, that Arsene and his constant whining about other clubs and how unfair it is that they have more money then we do (even though we spend so much on wages for players who we cant even sell on and who no longer play such as your Denilson's and Djourou's etc) is a mantra we all follow then you are as deluded as he is.

There is a massive divide between fans which are the ever diminishing Arsene Knows Brigade (lovingly referred to as the AKB's) and the other half who are sick to the back teeth of the constant lies that are spoon fed to us by the king of spin himself, Ivan Gazidis (a Man City fan by the way). There are people who only jumped on the bandwagon at Arsenal when football became really popular and Arsene FC was created. There are some who genuinely think that the club didn't exist before their deity arrived in '96. Anything that comes out of the mouths of their dear leader and board is the truth and all the talk about the evils of city (used to be Chelsea) is the only reason why we are now footballing also rans.

There are many, many of us who will support the team through thick and thin but will no longer put a penny into this club whilst the current regime exists.

It's got nothing to do with having an entitlement to win trophies, it's the constant lies and bullshit, the constant pining for this fantasy which is Financial Fair Play. It's a fucking joke. Unfortunately for us it wont be ending any time soon. Still for a shitty club with such horrible supporters like us I imagine you lot wont care which is fair enough as we didn't care when you were doing nowt.

As we are now doing something, I guess you feel the need to come on this forum. The thing is you have nothing to defend, you don't run your club. Just like the average City supporter, its out of our hands. The things is we have had more reality checks than the average gooner. The one thing is that under AW, you have actually produced less cradle to team youth players, however unless your youth system produces the quality needed to win the top honors, then you have to buy. Sadly you board has already gone record, with great pride, that they haven't put a penny of there own money into running the club in 30 years.

Away from the ticket price argument, is anyone keeping a check on the answers given to the which city player wouldyou most like question? Every time I read these opposition view things they all seem to want vinnie.

A bit rich for an Arsenal fan to be questionning "the sugar daddy model" as he put it, when their directors charge the highest prices, and take money OUT of the game, whilst our directors charge far lower prices and put money INTO the game.

Arsenal are no one to be lecturing or questionning anybody, especially City. Let's stuff 'em...and get Walcott on a free in the summer.

Hallo mate, thanks for the reply. I don't feel the need to defend the club as quite frankly, the way they treat us, it's actually indefensible and I only came on here as this is a subject which has and is talked about at length on our forums and in the pubs, that our club see us as customers, not supporters and we are all fair game.

The club cater for the day tripper now, it isn't supporters they want but tourists who will get to see a game in a shiny stadium in London. They sell the "Arsenal experience". Let me repeat that. "The Arsenal Experience". That is sort of people we have running the club now. They couldn't give a fuck about you, me or the football.

I also as I mentioned applaud your stance on sending the tickets back. But have you seen our boards response already? Pretty much along the lines of we have nearly sold the returned tickets. They don't give a shit mate.

Again I only commented because some have said things on here about our response as fans etc and I just wanted to explain how it from our perspective and not how it may appear that's all. We're not all divs down here.

Because he has genuine leadership quality - we had it with Adams, United with Keane, Chavski with Drogba and the racist. If we had a player like that when we had the young team with Cesc,Nasri and RvP we'd have racked up the trophies despite Ferguson and the sugardaddy clubs. Its very rare.Despite being foreign he seems to genuinely identify with the club as well.

I read the Arseblog article on the ticketing fiasco. Whilst they make some good points they seem to be obsessed by our spending yet they constantly yearn for their club to do just the same. They also forget that our owners are pouring vast sums and effort into the local community. Not the evil that they ignorantly report.

Let's get this right, because we buy players that means Arsenal have to charge more for ticket prices? What a joke of a statement that is.

Why is it that clubs like United and Arsenal always blame us and Chelsea for the way football is when they were the teams who made football as it is today. Its funny because they wasn't complaining when they had all the money and the best players.

As for ticket prices, I thought Arsenal did it the right way and not pay over the odds for a player or over inflated wages. Therefore they should have no excuse in the slightest for charging expensive prices, especially when they sell their players and don't invest it.

My view of Arsenal is that they are a horrible, stuck up, shitty club who are on par with the rags for having the most obnoxious and horrible supporters. They whinge about everything and honestly believe they have a god given right for success. I also think its rich of them to criticise us about buying players when at least we pay the fair value where as they think it is more acceptable to poach players from smaller clubs which could possibly ruin a club.
Cheers fella

The problem is as long standing fans we no longer feel we are part of the club, you seem to associate Arsenal PLC with Arsenal fans as if it was one..perhaps a bit like me suggesting you stood by every decision Peter Swales made x 1000. Our support is so divisive, the people who regularly travel away "oop North" and Europe etc and who will be there if ever the sky bubble burst are not the same as the rose tinted everything Arsenal is fantastic brigade. We are made most unwelcome and are clearly not the type the club wants...after 30 odd years of thick and thin(not as thin as City I know, I know) that is hard to take.

Believe me I would take 35 years of winning fuck all if we could become just a football club again.

A reasonable effort, I think a draw would be the most we could hope for given our track record in this fixture. I will say 2-1.

Not too sure what he's getting at re the sugar daddy comment, the fact we have rich owners has not pushed the prices of attendance up at games for either city or other clubs, Arsenal have always been robbing c unts in regards to ticket prices.

I think if he did a bit of research he would discover that city have some of the cheapest match day pricing around, and thats before we talk about the £250 season ticket... lazy southern c unt

I will also add that comments about how much money we have are fucking boring....4 years on.

I FUCKING HATE ARSEANAL FANS,bunch of cunts, ive crossed swords with many of them over the years on footy forums and slimey cant describe them enough, fucking strange fuckers who celebrate a bank balance more than a thrpphy ,FUCKING ODDBALLS

Hiya guys
gooner through and through here, not sure where to start but i wiil answer one question as to why we as fans have not done anything about the price situation at our club.
We have and are trying, we had a protest march at the Swansea home game where there were nearly 2,000 marching against the board and its policies and the fact that Ivan Gazidas got a £2,000,000 bonus when we are struggling to pay bills let al;one follow our team.
The problem is we have such a huge fan base there is always someone to step in when there are tickets going spare.the ground can be full of tourists and corporate these days and real fans are in the pubs on the holloway road or at home streaming it. we still have 40.000 on the waiting lists for season tickets.
i agree that the on ly waty to get anything done is to vote with your feet but as you know like any club a lot of fans are brain washed and will go come rain or shine to the detriment of a lot of old school passionate fans like myself.

-- Wed Jan 09, 2013 5:41 pm --

whoaaaaa slow down son thars not nice is it, did we get out of the wrong side of the bed today or what.
I dont like or hate City, ive had run ins with city boys over the years like other clubs but hey thats life. and we are not strange far from it think about the fans who are paying the most expensive priced tickets in the premiership.

I remember going down to Highbury and the Emirates before the takeover, was always a pretty good atmosphere between gooners and blues (enemy of my enemy played a part I'm sure). Haven't been since and I'd hope it's still a pretty good relationship.

But we blues hear an awful lot of mistruths, vitriol, and criticism of the club over the press, TV, radio, internet etc and I think thats where a lot of the bad blood between the two sets of supporters comes from. That and a few comments from Arsene.

Thats football mate isnt it you need passion. its a shame like a lot of things these days its the opc crowd who win. I can remember when we played you in 71 and Charlie the darling of the Northbank scored two and we went on to wembley and done the double. Always used to be a bit hairy round the side streets at yours.

surely arsenal fans would sooner see thousands of away fans at the emirates.

i know for sure i don't want to see the day when arsenal don't travel to city in huge numbers, which they always have done.

the away fan arguement largely boils down to the wealth of fans, clubs like sunderland and newcastle bring about 1700 to city these days, it's pathetic these 2 giants of the north east would bring 5000+ every time if the allocation and pricing was right, but they come from poor areas.

the arsenal lads on this post have added decent comments, the abuse is uncalled for, we are all football fans at the end of the day, why not unite and stop clubs royally taking the piss.

I like to think the abuse is generally aimed in the direction of the football fan every club have and we ALL despise. It is sad to see, as no-one to my knowledge has come on here and give it the usual big club, loyal fans, couldn't sell tickets blah blah...what I am surprised to see it has not been a concerted(organised) effort by City fans to refuse to buy as opposed to the odd F*** that, too close to Christmas etc..after all it is what an extra £5 above what Chelsea and other London been charging us for years. £55 at Fulham last year as I recall

I am sure you realise that we have been charged top wack everywhere we have played ever since clubs have graded games. We were charged £50 at Charlton ffs the last time they were up (5-6 years ago?) Price of success perhaps but no trophies for 7 or even 35 years is going to change that.

You have heard of paying the price for success...welcome to the club.

Regards and Respect

agree with all you have said mate, cannot argue, for the record i have 2 tickets for the game sunday, my heart rules my head when it come to city, i dont want to ever become a fan that watches my team on the tv so i sacrifice most things so i can watch the game live. I have said all along, before city's jump into the spotlight that fans of utd, arsenal, chelsea and liverpool were having the piss taken out of them, but the truth is 3 of those 4 clubs have enourmous support and the other is growing at a rapid rate of knots in one of the richest parts of the country, so quite simply when one fan doesnt go, there are plenty to take his place. I have seen every city game at arsenal in the past 30 years and never seen us win a league game, but i have always enjoyed going to "the arsenal", with the programme sellers in the gardens and the "peanut sellers", but this will be my last time at these prices.

all the best mate

The disadvantage City fans have is that wages here are lower and the most expensive ticket prices are for games in London where we have to pay travel costs as well.

It's quite noticeable, when you see the visiting support from Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, that their supporter base is a lot wealthier than ours

I understand that mate but I know many that travel all over watching Arsenal and have spent everything they earn and more(a lot more) doing so.

I know you may baulk and laugh at my next comment In 2000 we played away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League(no club trip,no cheap flights and no direct flights) it was the last group game as we had already qualified), a reserve side put out ...38..yes thirty eight of us hardy souls braved the elements of Far Eastern Ukraine and a 0-3 defeat..two days later the draw and an away trip in November(2 weeks later) to Spartak Moscow...-17 and a 1-4 defeat 350 of us this time....

fathellensbellend I am sorry I don't know how to double quote? My first game at Maine Rd was I think a league cup match in 1985 and not missed one since, I hope you have another great trip apart from the obvious to London..it's in the blood so we'll see you next season!

I read Fever Pitch many times over, and Glory Glory days (the SPurs one about Chivers Bill Nich's SPurs). Plenty of respect to match going fans. I've put myself in your shoes a few times

When City were in the lower divisions, a lot of us used to hope you'd win every weekend, just to stop Man Utd. Those days are gone now I'm afraid, and there's a bit of rivalry especially after the controversial transfers.

I will be happy with a draw at the weekend. We will be missing our best players and we don't really have stand-ins for them (Nasri, Yaya Toure and Aguero). You can get away with one or two missing, but when its 3, & they are all attacking players it is bound to have a big impact. I see City playing a much more defensive game than usual.
