Osama Bin Laden is dead.

It looks like they are taking turns on COD Black Ops

I may disagree with Damocles on many things, however, this thread has shown that in the important things I agree totally with his view.

I have been banging on in another long-forgotten thread on Libya arguing similar points.

Those who doubt how far the US will go to "protect their interests" need to get hold of the books written by Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz, and other neo-cons.

They all but map out the way they plan to rule the world, and what is going on with Libya is text book stuff for them.

Bin laden was NEVER going to be brought to justice. This just tidies up one of the many loose ends.

Just because people don't subscribe to every conspiracy theory imaginable does not make them naive, as you appear to be suggesting here. Maybe some of us have considered these theories and rejected all or most of them as unlikely, impossible or unsustainable.

Also the fact that you appear to consider yourself as part of an elite (1%) of people who are ITK's smacks of intellectual snobbery.

Where does your deep anger filled hatred of America come from?

Couldn't the US forces have filled the compound with a strong nerve gas to immobilise them?

Its not James Bond

When did James Bond do this? I must have missed that one.

Strangely enough, this method has been used before in the past...

-- Tue May 03, 2011 6:53 pm --

It's only a recent thing.

When I awoke from my slumbers to see what is really going on in the world, rather than just chanting "USA! USA" to make myself feel better.

I love America, actually. Their culture and people are as good as anything you'll ever find.

Just a pity their governments are usually corrupt.

So how long have you been in love with America?

It was a tactic used in the Moscow Cinema siege, it was not really that successful.

There are some ridiculous conspiracy theories in this thread, most of them from bitter left wingers who are pretty gutted that the US finally got their man, the pissed off nature of their posts is quite obvious.

Most right thinking people know this is not the end, but it will give a sense of closure to the US and more importantly the victims, of Al Qaeda inspired atrocities, Nairobi, New York, Madrid, London. It also sends out a clear message to the rest of the Al Qaeda leadership that they are not safe anywhere, especially as the Pakistanis are going to have to do something about the rouge SIS elements, that the world and his dogs knows about, who have been actively helping terrorist groups, the very same groups that have been killing 1000's of their fellow countrymen, it's quite obvious Bin Laden was housed where he was because he was protected, it was a non pashtune area right next tot he Pakistani equivalent to Sandhurst

And I didn't mean to come across as "anti-American", 'cos I ain't. In fact, I would say it might just be my favourite other country on the planet... it has something for everybody. I've never met a bad Yank! Annoying sometimes... but you find them everywhere!

I don't hate any nation. I just hate most of the politicians and rulers in the countries! I even end up hating most of the British politicians eventually!
