I understand where Obama's coming from saying the pictures won't be released as it may incite further violence from terrorists. But surely the fact that he's dead (if he is) will be enough?

Pakistan don't seem too happy with it all.

No it hasn't. THere have been several instances of people saying that they 'think' he's dead. The only person who has ever stated unequivocally that he was dead was Bhutto I believe.

He hasn't been in the US administration since Bush senior was in power.

Also, why wouldn't previous administrations have released this info before now? Surely any of them could have done it. Why is now the right time?
