Yes, but SWP's back posted a number of links (in his post that you quoted) to articles written by Johan Hari. The same Johan Hari whose article you posted at the top of the thread.

The whole British political system is corrupt ,the major parties remind me of the chuckle brothers. "To me .., to you .." end of the tax year so expect wasted money on banal projects as the local council spend on who ever is driving their gravy train . you give sweeteners you get kept in work. Its just how the game works , the local council members should be auditted more closely ,and more often. And the electorate should be asked in person about projects and needs, instead they ask a few ,and adjust the research to get their end result. It seems the only time they asked Manchester as a whole was when they were extending the metrolink. There was a resounding No, and still the work was done,........... deals were in place,obviously.
They wont ask that lot (us) again surely, hmm. wonder how the voting system is gonna go .

You would also notice (if you had the capacity of thought), that sourcewatch and honestreporting are about as far from right wing media as you are likely to get.

It must be lovely in your simplistic little world (left = good, right = bad, anything that doesn't agree with you = bad)

Politics and economics are definitely not my fortes. I would take the word of a Nobel prize winning professor on economic matters (as quoted in the OP) before I belived a politician, though. But I am sure you would be able to find another equally eminent academic whose views on economics were diametrically opposed to those qouted in the OP. Such is the nature of economics.
