Oscar Bobb

Personally, I think Bobb is the most talented of the three, but that doesn't mean he will get the nod. He is, to me, not a natural wide-right player; Palmer is, and Mahrez leaving means that that is where the options are. I see Bobb more as a player behind the striker, but I hope that will be Foden's role. I can see this as the possibility for Bobb:

==============Haaland================
Grealish========Foden===========Palmer
=====Kovacic====Rodri======KDB========

==============Haaland================
Grealish========Bobb===========Bernardo
=====Kovacic====Rodri======Foden========

So Bobb replaces Foden in CAM. When we play Palmer out wide, we go more experience in the centre. When we play Bobb centre, we play more experience out wide.

In cup games, I would be more inclined to play two of McAtee, Bobb and Palmer.
So playing 3 at the back? - not sure even Pep would do that behind those formations

Good points and example formations I think there's enough room for Bobb to be the spare man who gets minutes here and there, his ceiling is high but l also think Stones/Lewis will defo be next to Rodri at all times or maybe Gvardiol/Phillips too at times if the latter is staying.

Still think there's more than enough time for Bobb to work with potentially as it's going to be a long hard season, especially with the Club World Cup happening and Euros too we'll be wanting to rest players at every opportunity. Bobb could stay here and get the perfect mix of training and experience this year with the very best players, then if McAtee gets that rumoured Real Sociedad loan this season it frees up chances. It could be that McAtee goes out this year with Bobb doing the same thing next year, obviously I mean if he's at the point of impressing but still not quite ready to get starts for us.

Bobb should be the spare man this season in my view let's see if he gets some games, if the worst comes to the worst and he's had little action by January find him a good loan move where he can express himself.

If they stick to the new timekeeping guidelines another 20 to 30 mins based on 2 games per week could change things quite a bit for the fringe players, could even say we need an extra player or two to finish games instead of regulars like Jack, KDB, Bernardo , Phil etc.

Lol an extra 20 mins and 5 subs games will end up as a farce

Can you imagine 8pm kick offs. Either no one would be left in the ground or we'd all be waiting for taxis as public transport will have finished esp no one can use their car to get there anymore.

Well we’re going to experience this next week against the Geordies for our Saturday evening game.

I predict getting out of the ground around 11pm!

Mind you they are used to these late KOs abroad but makes a difference stumbling into some late night tapas tavernas where there is more of a social evening culture as opposed to getting smashed in a Spoons.

There is that. It's fine on a Saturday night I suppose but not so good for midweek games when you have to be up at 6am or earlier for work the next day. Thank goodness I don't work weekends anymore.

Didn't make the bench again. He might need a loan after all, despite a great pre-season.

He was never gonna till Laporte, Palmer, McAtee all move first at least

But then you’ve still got Stones, Dias, Paqueta and Doku to come back into the squad (assuming we sign the last two). He needs regular football or he’ll just stagnate like Palmer has
